Help me out...

i'm new to the forum and all so move this thread if its in the wrong place. Btw i was peeping craigslist around my way and found a 04 g35 for $4500. That sounds very suspect But as i was looking into it only thing that stood out to me is that it had very high mileage. A 04 shouldnt be over 100k but this one is at 144,646 which is CRAZY. So should i even look into why dude has it listed so low and everything or just go ahead and pass on it...

it wouldn't hurt to ask whats wrong with it if its not posted in the ad. just make sure you thoroughly check it out if you are thinking of buying it. The high milage isn't a problem, its how it was maintained during its life that matters.

Really weird....the cheapest I ever saw was a 2003 sedan with 180,000miles with a huge dent on the door and a few scratches and cracked leather for $6,500

yea its 6yrs old..but around 15k a year is about average. so i would expect around 90 no more than 100 on a 04..not 140...How much does high mileage effect the Infiniti's? i know on the bmw's after they get high mileage the become Electronically pieces of ****s

I bought my 05' with 114k on it for $12k and I thought I stole it from him. At 130k, had to put another motor in it, but mine was a freak accident.

Well, that was the best part, really. When the motor blew I was extremely broke. I went looking around on Ebay and Craigslist and ran upon a mis-listed VD35 on Ebay. I couldn't tell which it was and I had a Revup in my car.
https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-...-up-block.html
So I posted the link above and someone told me it was the correct one.
I then bid $900 for it. More than I could afford, but I coudn't afford to be without a car either. So I waited and watched the auction and got it for $500+$230shipping.
It's a new motor with hardly ANY miles, less than 5k per the ad but after speaking to him and seeing the motor in person, I doubt it had 2k miles on it.
https://g35driver.com/forums/g-spot/...ock-500-a.html
I emailed him and called him. His phone didn't work while the auction was going and he finally called be about 30 minutes after the auction ended. He proceeded to tell me that the motor was a Oil Consumption replacement engine that he put in at a Infinit Dealer (he's a Technician) and the guy brought it back a coupe months later stating it smoked but couldn't prove it. His supervisor said "Ok, put another motor in it and not another thing for him". So he pulled it, and sat it in the corner for a few months until his boss told him to get rid of it. Then he posted it on Ebay as one of his first few Auctions. The description was about 2-3 sentences and sounded fishy but I figured, I could part out the engine and get my money back so I took a risk.

The guy was super nice and offered his advice if I needed it.
Worked out perfectly and has almost 10k mi on it now. Great deal. I have $800 in the entire swap.

Most probably a scam. Take look at the car first to see if it even exists.
