Battery(?) is deceased
So today I get in my car and start it up but it hesitated ever so slightly turning on. I didn't think much of it but when I got where I was going and came back out to my car, it wouldn't turn over at all, completely dead. Just made a rapid clicking noise. A guy helped me jump it and I got it home which is a short drive so I left it running for at least 45 minutes and went out and parked it on the street (facing downhill in case it wouldnt start again... 6MT FTW). Right after I turned it off, I tried turning it on again and of course completely dead.
I'm pretty sure it's the battery (and the car-knowledgeable guy who jumped it agreed) but what do you guys think?
And if it is, what battery do you guys recommend I buy? I know a lot will recommend the Optima, but is it really worth the price premium for a guy who has no extra electrical stuff in my car except a radar detector?

Have the optima yellow top was going to get the red but it was sold out, I cant complain i left my car on not started with radio and the fan and the headlights on for about an hour the car started right up. When i did the same thing pumping gas at a gas station on my stock battery it wouldn't start.

Well I haven't made my decision yet, primarily because there haven't been a lot of replies to this thread.
Let me put it this way.... I really want the optima but it's expensive. If the second best battery is significantly less monies, I'll probably get that one. What is second best? Or should I just splurge?

This happened to me in my sedan last year. Tried starting the car with the heated seats on, nothing. Turned off heated seats, turned off all interior lights, turned off radio, barely had enough juice to crank the starter.
Drove right to Napa and got a battery. Optimas are good, but they are starting to get VERY pricey. I remember when I bought one for $150, now they're above $210 in some places.

alternator should be fine. u can jump start ur car and if u have a tester, then u can check if alternator is fine.
but 99.99% sure its the batery. just buy a new one.

I love my optima yellow top. Fast start and dont have to worry about battery dying on me. Actually changed my oem battery before I had problems. I Still have my good OEM sitting on telephone book in the garage if anyone in socal needs ones.
