Is this normal??

I did a DIY headunit removal a couple of days back and broke a couple pieces here and there in the process. Anyway, today I realized that there was a noticeable gap on the gear shift plate thingy. Can any of your G35 coupe AT owners check your gear shift area and let me know if this gap is normally there? In the pics you can see that the plate is lifted away from the surface a couple of millimeters. Isn't it supposed to sit flush with the surface? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Probably getting a new plate. If you broke the clips that hold them down... they won't ever sit flush again because there is nothing to pull the face plate downward.

....^....No the gap isn't normal, didn't you notice that it sat flush when you took it apart? Figure out which parts are broken and replace them so your shifter plate sits flush again. Give our sponsored Infiniti dealership a call they'll wholesale the parts to you 800-919-8130 (parts dept)
