Hi I just bought my first g35 about a month ago. 2006 obsidian black coupe with stock 18". I have looked at quite a few rims and come down to a coupe of choices. The car is completely stock except for JDM clear side markers.
1)enkei GTC01 (hyper Silver)
2)enkei RPF1 (sbc)
3)stock 19" rays (silver)
which ones do you think i should go with?? keep in mind, that if I do go with the stock 19" rays i would also have to get tires since i currently have 18" wheels. VOTE AWAY!! and tell me why!

I would go with the rays simply because I think they look nicer then the other two and they're forged.
The RPF1's are heavier then the other two and are cast.
The GTC01's are cast as well and are the lightest.
The OEM Rays are 3lbs heavier then the RPF1s but are forged.

Out of those 3 I would definitely go with the enkei RPF1's (with a drop of course). I recall seeing a few pictures of one member on here who had a set (I believe were 19's) on his silver G and they looked superb.

How about Enkei RS05's if you like the spokey look. I really like the SBC finish it doesn't look quite like chrome in certain light they look like black pearl. I had just purchased a set of 18" Michelin PS2's before I deceided to buy new wheels so ended going with 18's. I have a set of slotted rotors to install.

Size before design... 19" stock rays.
Wrap them up with Continental DW tires.. they currently have top ratings at tirerack:

The sun was shinning from directly behind me when I took the photo. The rotor and caliper don't show nearly as much under normal light. Yes, a BBK would be great.
what are the main differences between cast and forged? i know that forged are supposedly stronger?

I assuming "bbk" stands for "big break kit"?? i don't know too much car lingo like that but yea that would be a lot nicer. The problem is the money, a bbk along with a set of wheels would be around 3000-5000 and i really just dont have that much money to be spending right now.Originally Posted by walshtj

everyone keeps suggesting i get the Rays but i feel like if i am going to spend any money on my wheels at all, i may as well as get something that looks a little different than the stock rays which are fairly common.Originally Posted by O HELLA OEM

Don't get into the mentality that different always equals better. That's when you start ricing out your car and justifying to yourself that it's "unique". As far as budget wheels Enkei's are very nice, but I just don't think you can beat the looks and build quality of the Rays. If you are dead set on Enkei's, either of those wheels would be fine, just depends on what your personal perference.Originally Posted by l3adabing
