2005 G35 Coupe, 5AT 8.13 Second 0-60 Time?!

First post on the main forum, im a ghost around the classifieds haha. But i have a question to the G35 experts on this great site.

I was timing my 0-60 times this morning... It clocked a 8.13 in TIP mode with VDC off. It was about 65 degrees on a summer morning. I live in Parker colorado, so the elevation is about 6080ft above sea level. But WTF is up with my SLOW 0-60 acceleration?

All tires have about 30PSI in them and im running stock 18's with 245/45/18 rears and 225/45/18 fronts.

I researched the loss in HP with altitide. If i read correct its 0.03% for every 1000 FT above sea level.

Im open for any sugestions and i did use "search" but found a few things that didnt really apply.

Thanks for the help you all are great!

no one really gauges their car on 0-60, go run the 1/4 mile then we will give you feedback on your times.

^Or the 1/8 mile.

The altitude is definitely a major factor. The automatics shift slowly to begin with also.

Yeah with that awful lag on the tiptronic it takes pretty dang good timing to get it at proper rpm when shifting.

But in all honesty. 8 second 0-60 time?

I plan on going to the drag actually, but would you wanna 1/4 mile pulling an 8 second 0-60 sprint? That would be lame.

But is there something possibly wrong with my car? I've taken great care of it. Seafomed it like 3000 miles ago and just got synthetic oil changed.

That does sound ridiculously slow, hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in here but that is more sluggish then I expected. Crappy stopwatch? hahaha

OP: I'm assuming your car is stock.

At sea level, my best time was 5.7s. If I were at 6K+ feet I would expect to run about 6-7s. And what are you timing with?

I was using my stop watch first and my best was like 7.25. Then I used my iPhone app to clock it too (got the 8.13). Sounds ridiculous but the phone is really frakken sensitive to movement. Plus the app has alot of good reviews etc.

My car is stock with 79xxx miles.

Get Sean's grounding kit, 3.7 FD gears, and the transgo valve body kit.

That is a really long time. When's the last time you got a service?

And i feel you regarding the timing of shifting tiptronic. Depends on how you accelerate naturally...

I haven't taken it to the dealer or anything. I did have it checked out by bigotires and they said nothing was wrong. But maybe I should drop it off at an Infiniti dealer. Do they charge to inspect a car?

Seems a little slow but have to remember our cars are heavy, and with those miles your hp is def down a little. That combined with the altitude I think late 7 to 8 is a little slow but not too bad.
