LR coupe .. powder coat the rims which color ??

so .. I have the 19" rays on my coupe .. a while back I had them powder coated glossy black with a red time attack .. I'm sort of getting bored with the look and want something that stands out a bit more (especially at night since you can't even see the red stripe well at night) .. my boy can do my powder coating for free which is why I won't bother spending money on new rims when I really do like how the stock rays look so I'm just trying to figure out which way to go now .. I was thinking of gold but not a YELLOWISH or bright gold .. a more dull or matt gold that you can tell is gold but not some ugly color .. below is what I've come up with but any other powder coated combo for the LR would be appreciated ..

1. Gold
2. Gold with polished lip
3. Gunmetal (possibly a metallic gunmetal)
4. Gunmetal with polished lip
5. Machined with polished lip (have read it looks good on LR but haven't seen it yet)
6. Glossy black without the t/a stripe
7. Matt black

Any ideas or suggestions .. I've seen a lot of threads but still can't make up my mind .. I found pictures on here of a white coupe with the oem rays done in gold and a polished lip .. looked good except I'd want a duller gold if that makes sense .. thanks again and please don't suggest different rims because I'm not keeping this car long enough to invest TOO much into it and I'm itching for a change that my friend can get me for free thanks !!

Gold if you're Chinese but that looks best on IP coupes not LR. Polished would look good with a LR stripe, black does nothing for a LR coupe gloss or flat....

not sure if I agree about Gold being only for Chinese lol but I agree that some of the gold tones shouldn't be combined with red cars .. and Yeah I'm learning that now with regards to the black rims lol I saw in other posts you mentioned machined rim with polished lip looking good on LR .. do you have any pics of how that would look ?? I just don't want it to look "stock" even though it's still the stock rim lol

here's the type of gold I'm thinking of (if I go with gold that is)

and the red G with gold rims, to me, looks pretty hot and stands out (as long as the gold tone isn't crazy) ..

no idea what I should do LOL

i'm in Rutherford .. as far as powder coating goes, I went to East Coast in Harrison to get my rims done initially but things tend to take 2-4 weeks with him and you end up feeling like a jerk afterwards .. I've heard nothing but good things about USA Wheels (which is where I want to go to figure out the exact color I'm getting) .. I would recommend by boy but he does this work on the side out of his dads shop and I doubt he would try to turn this into a regular thing since he's like me and knee deep in training for the police department .. best bet is contacting East Coast or USA Wheels if I were you

thanks .. only problem LOL I let a friend drive my car a few weeks back .. he curbed my right front rim .. I dropped it off to get redone .. comes back this Saturday and the hand painted re stripe on the newly done rim is a TINY bit more centered on the lip than the other three .. he told me it's nearly impossible to match it perfectly but I have severe OCD and I notice it which is yet another reason I really want to go another route with my rims .. don't get me wrong, this rim scheme looks beyond amazing but I'm only keeping this car at most another 2 years so for Free or even 400-600, a change once a year is fun for me lol .. I'm wishing someone here did the LR coupe with a duller gold so that I could see it since it's really the way I'm leaning .. I know it's all about personal preference and a lot of people either love or hate the gold rims on LR but a LOT of people also hate on hondas and once upon a time ago I was guilty of driving one of those loud little bubble backs with the fart cannons lol life's too short to worry about criticism but it's NEVER too short to get the opinion and hopefully replies with pictures of my fellow G drivers (regardless of what route I take) lol

Car looks awesome. I want to powder coat my rays on a pearl white coupe. I have searched the site to no avail. Anyone seen pics of a pearl white coupe (with fin) with black rays?

I think you mean bronze, not gold. And I personally think bronze would be sweet, thats what i want to get on my LR.
This is a members car. His name is Sexyrob, hopefully he doesnt mind me putting this here, his LR is sweet and he has more pics in his album.

hmm .. I never considered bronze as what that color would be but that also looks good to me lol .. I guess it's a bronze or a dull gold type thing but that looks pretty hot as well .. thanks a lot for the post .. I guess I'm just seeing how other members are towards the gold/bronze and red thing since it is a LITTLE different and I've personally never seen a red car with these rims in my area lol .. just don't want my car to look like *** lol
