>> One was a twin-turbo, as well as super-charged SC300 that beat a stock Hyabusa (however you spell it) and run neck & neck with a modded Hyabusa.<<
I know which car that is. It wasn't supercharged or a twin turbo. Its an SC300 with a Supra Turbo motor in it, running a huge single turbo setup on a built motor with nitrous. They guy did a fantastic job with the motor and the transplant. From the outside, the car looks almost totally stock except for some larger wheels and a front spoiler. I believe the car roams the streets of Austin, TX.
2002 Corvette Z06, Electron Blue/Black
On order: 2003 G35C, 6MT, DG/G, Nav/Aero/Premium, ETA 7/03

Re: out run this
Hmmm, thats wierd. If you watch the MPEG, it says at the beginning "93' SC300TT SC". There is another video where the SC300 follows another race to video it, between 2 Supras (1 modded, and 1 near stock i believe) and a Venom 500 Viper. 1/2 way through their race, the SC gets on it, and smokes all 3 like they were standing still!! It was amazing.
CORRECTION, just found the mpeg of the 3 car race. Z06, the SC300 I'm talking about is twin turbo, but no supercharger. And the other two cars were not Supras, but 11 second RX-7's. Here's the link to the MPEG's: http://www.turbocharged.ca/video/. Scroll down to Lexus and you'll see it.
Edited by merlin on 05/10/03 08:58 PM.

Re: out run this
This is the Lexus SC300 I was talking about. Take a look at that motor, and you'll see why it does what it does. The turbo looks big enough to have come off a Caterpillar!

That thing must be a PITA to drive in town with such a big turbo. You need NOS to spool that thing up!

He's got that covered - from the spec sheet:
"NOS 100hp single fogger Wet shot w/ redundant solenoids "
I agree with you though. A lot of those big turbo 2JZ-GTE motors are more dyno queens than anything else. They put out huge peak HP numbers but aren't very streetable. Especially when you're always relying on a bottle of NOS to get you going, and then hope for lots of traction and some prayers to keep you hooked up.
I much prefer the more linear and predictable power delivery of a bigger cube V-8.
