As for the used 07 motor, if it's a REVUP, chances are, there will be some differences in the wiring harness.

How hard were you on the motor? Another ideas on what happened? Timing chain, bearing failure, rod failure, etc?
not hard at all... I am trying to keep my 1 ticket in the system the only one in the system...so i really dont need to push the g hard for any reason...not to mention if you drive fast the girls in the other cars cant see the driver...hahaha but on a real note... the death blow sound came really low in the motor...nothing up top... I cant really tell what the fail is until i bring it to the shop... in which I am still trying to locate a decent motor...as we read...

not yet... I have experienced this before on B series and K series motor same symptoms... I know that these are completely diff motors but the symptoms of not being able to crank over can be a result of broken rod etc... but I will find out when the car is in the shop for a motor swap...I would love to strip that VQ just to see what really broke...

to be honest... I think the possible oil pooling problem caused all this... i would have to consider enough oil got into a cylinder to cause some thing similar to a hydro-locked motor...but i will never know until its stripped.

Mine did the exact same thing... I thought it was the timing chain BUT when I pulled it I found that it was the pin in the Harmonic Balancer that connects the timing chain gear to crank shaft...

My stock motor is sitting in San Diego now, if you're interested shoot me a PM. It's a 2006 NON REV UP so will work fine, as long as you use your same engine harness.

If you get it right, you should have no problem with the motor swap. I blew the engine on my '03,,,,,,,,,,, actually on the Laguna Seca racetrack and towed the car back home. I bought a replacement with 17,000 miles on it for $1,600 in Fontana. Had a good friend with a shop and he swapped the motors for $1,200. Also, I had hydro locked the motor one time in Murrieta during a huge rain storm and a flooded street. Dealer ship checked it and figured I'd be getting a replacement. When they checked the engine, it was fine and strong as they told me. I did get a new tranny (under warranty) during that time at least. Good luck with your replacement.

Later,

Ray
