There is ways around this smog check business. Avoid having to register the car in CA. If it is possible for you to avoid having to register your car here than absolutely do it. This CAN BE ILLEGAL in MOST circumstances. I'm not going to spell it out for you, but if one was to visit CA for short time periods constantly you could still have your car registered in TX as you are "just visiting." avoiding this check crap. get the drift.

I'm not advancing any illegal practices, just saying look at the laws and see if you can maintain out of state registration.

I just said fvck it!!! The majority of the crap on my car is illegal by CA standards, and it just keeps getting worse.

Just keep all of the OEM parts and put them on when you come here.

....^....WRONG! Stillens CAI/Z-Tube isn't illegal cause they gave me an EO # when I bought it. Doing my smog check this year I offered that sticker and he declined....no problem.

No the intake itself will come with a sticker when you buy it. The company who made the product should have ran it through tests with emissions from the state to prove it was CARB approved. You cant do anything to get it approved it already has to be approved.

Dont do what others are saying either about keeping it registered in texas. All states give you a 30 period to reregister and relicense your credentials. Dont be the guy who gets pulled over and it turns into hefty fines. Unless your military i would just keep it stock then switch the parts after you move. Or its only two bolts just take it off before you goto the place to get it checked.

well 240 and honda guys gotta deal with cops in cali a lot more then other guys do so as a ex modded 240 driver i have been to the state ref a few time and you gotta have that CARB sticker or you are fuked. All the name brand guys like HKS and Jim wolf ect. have carb stickers but they gotta be able to see em or you will get a ticket. <-(cops) With a G you can do header cuz you really cant see em like in a 240 but you always run that risk. LA and SF refs dont play they know all the tricks. all i can say is keep all your oem stuff and you should be good if you ever need to goto the ref.

This is the question you NEED to ask the seller, "Does the intake include a CARB sticker?" If you don't want to run the Stillen CAI which includes the much needed sticker just go with a z-tube and a K&N drop in filter....issue solved! Intakes aren't worth any HP increase, just sound and the z-tube will change the sound....

carb sticker or not.

It's still a fix a ticket. if the cop wants to issue one.
