MAF problems after washing car...

Hi all,

I have a 2003 Coupe (bought new in '03) has 19k miles with a vortec SC, upgraded injectors, fuel pump and fuel return system. The car runs great. About a year ago after getting the car washed, while driving home the car started running rough and stalled. I finally got it started (limp mode) and once home determined the MAF fowled. Once cleaning the MAF, all was well.

The problem:
Now, every time I wash the car I have the same problem. For years took it to car washes, powered wash it myself and never a problem. I've searched everywhere and I haven't been able to find a solution.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Water getting into the intake somehow? Check the harness for the MAF to make sure ther are no cuts.

Thanks for the reply...

I did an inspection of the housing and all the plumbing connections for the SC I could see from the top of the top of the engine compartment. I'm getting ready to do a headlight mod, so when I take the bumper off I'll check the BOV and intercooler. The only thing is that should all be positive pressured so I can't figure water getting in from that side of the SC.

Anyone know if the BOV creates negative pressure when it open/closes?
