As most of you know I just bought a dg coupe last week, Ive had it for 6 days. The day after I bought it I found a weird spot on the paint the size of a half dollar. It looked to be a wet sand spot that wasnt buffed out right. So I called the dealer and they said make a appointment with service and bring it in so I did. They looked for hours and couldnt see it so I went out put the car in the shade and showed the retards. They dont want to repaint the car, so I talked to the GM he said call the Infiniti consumer concerns so I did, he said maybe they can do something for me like free services etc. So by then I was so pissed I drove 2 hours to hear that. So I told the GM I wanted a free tank gas and a detail for coming down there to hear that bull $hit. So Infiniti corporate is now getting involved, so I will see where it goes. So I need answers If they offer to repaint the whole rear quarter panel should I do it or live with it. I hate buying a brand new (my first own car)car and have to go through this dont you think the dealer should compansate me for not disclosing that flaw to me and not taking care of it before I bought it Im pretty mad so any feed back would be greatly appreciated.

 

i went to the dealer: once to buy the car, second time for the first oil change . then, i realized that they are bunch of morons that loved to play around in my car and i think some jerk off actually smoked in there,; i went back one last time to tell the service manager off and told them to shove their free oil changes up their own ***!

now, i change my own oil and if i have to go back to the dealer, i drive a good 2 hours out of my way to go to another dealer.

the sad thing is, the salesman and the chic that was their pr were fantastic and super hot (the chic not the sales man) but the service and financing guys were bunch of douchebags

Infiniti doesn't quite "suck." Every car company has some terrible dealerships.

If you think you don't like your paint right now, just wait until it starts chipping and swirling prematurely because of the terrible flex agent they put in. Oh yeah, watch your brakes and your window motor, too.

Even though certain aspects of the G35's build quality are decidedly mediocre, Ferraris are some of the least reliable cars on the road.

 

Why can't KIA or Hyundai just rip off the Modena and make an exotic looking car for $25k? I'd buy it even if it only had a 4 cylinder engine and goes 0-60 in 12 seconds.

Man eventhough you buying a new car that shouldn't stop you from carefully inspecting it.....when i was picking up my G from the dealer i was examining my car all over for like 30 mins for things like scratches,dings etc...the dealer thought i was nuts.......i was like im thirsty get more soda please

 

Things may have changed since the late 80's but unfortunately, if your car receives minor damage in transit, they do not have to disclose this information.
When I worked for Mercedes-Benz of No America, I was surprised at how many of their cars that came into port had minor damage. Some needed very minor repair, others needed major paint work. The dealership did not have to disclose this information, but it was kept on record at our Home Office.

To repair a small spot could be alot worse in the end.....I would get them to agree to have it done at a shop you would select. Make sure they are capable of matching the paint exact, or its not worth the time and effort.....

The reality is that many cars are damaged in transit. If the damage to the car is less than 3% of the value of the car, they do not have to disclose it, even to the dealer. I don't Infiniti sucks, just the one you dealt with, I have bought 2 cars from them this year and had the best service from their dealership than I have ever had at any other dealership.

That's exactly what you do when you pick up your car.. full careful inspection of the car before leaving the lot. They will give you a "we owe" ticket and they will fix it a later time free of charge.

I had the slightest scratch on my taillight and my trunk, and they replaced both. The front bumper also came with a slight crease, and they replaced that too. Try another dealership, that might actually help.

I know a guy who runs a business going from dealer to dealer fixing blems on new cars. Hes right there as they unload them ready to fix anything before the customer pics it up. Small scratches, dents, peeling trim etc etc on all NEW cars. Dosen't do a bad job of covering it up, but really makes you think.

Back in 96 I spent 2 days dealing on a brand new car, got $6k off MSRP, had them ship the right car from 3 States away, very excited about picking it up. Then when I went to pick up the car I saw a irregularity on the front bumper, which after an hour they explainde to me there was a minor hiccup and they sprayed over the area. I turned around and walked out of the dealership. Quite a bummer, but I think every consumer deserves exactly what they pay for, which is a brand new car in prestine condition.

I'd have them repaint the entire panel, if not just have them give you a new car. It's a new car, blemishes aren't acceptable.
