question on the oil... I have 85k and someone told me I could use 10w-30 thats what i used to use on my other cars. GS-R And sti. always worked good but someone told me for the G to stay away form syntheic and go with REG oil that way it wont consume oil. is that correct?

My 6MT-G is at 111k (or will be this week.) I run 10w30 syn. blend currently, and I've had no oil problems.

+1,000,000!!!

What you have to do is leave the car level, not running for at least 30 minutes before you check your oil, in order to get a good reading.

But, yeah - I HATE that pharking dipstick!

Eh I bought the Nissan extended warranty when I bought my car, it's QualityGuard+. Bumper to bumper, it was around $2000 for 2 years or 24k miles. I've made up for the 2k already... you do end up saving money, but sometimes it's worth paying some cash not to have to deal with dealer service reps!

just stop going aggressive on that G hitting that high RPM that will make it worse

if ur not doing that then you are doing very goood and should not have any problems until 150k miles

yeah but this guy dont want anything to happen whatsoever, so best for him is to not do that stuff. Yeah i like hitting high rpm's too but it will be crap with maintenance especially for those people who dont got warranty like me are expensive

yeah just go normal/decent driving.. shifting at 2,500-3,500 RPM u wont have a problem with your G for a really loooooong time.

only go aggressive when u need too if someone on the road tryna be serious with u lol

My 03 has 101k and I am in the process of researching what all I should do for the 100k service job. Any suggestions. I am planning on replacing the oil, oil filter, transmission fluid, brake fluid, spark plugs, spark plug wires, timing belt and have it re-timed, and I think my rotors are bad. I also wanted to point out that the only problems I have had is the driver side window motor went haywire, the passenger seat motor is going out and the passenger door lock doesn't work right all the time. Also any clues on why my actual key doesn't unlock the door when I stick it in the key hole but it starts my car?
