Trip to Vegas and oil change

I will be going to Vegas next week and by the time I return from the trip, I will have exceeded the 3000 mile oil change interval by 200-300 miles. Is that ok? I drive my car hard at times and in traffic. The other choice is to change the oil earlier, at 2300 miles.
I would appreciate your advice.

You'll be okay. Most mechanics will tell you waiting up to 5k is absolutely fine, anyway.

I think its fine too. I was in your same situation when taking long trips. Besides factory maintenance according to the handbook is 3700 for an oil change. I still do it a little earlier then that though.

You'll be just fine. To make you feel better, check the oil level and color of it before and after the trip. If it's still translucent and light brown, it's still good.

Re: Trip to Vegas and oil change

You shouldn't have a porblem at all. My dealer suggests to change the oil every 4000 miles actually. Going a little bit over won't do anything.

Re: Trip to Vegas and oil change

don't listen to them.you WILL have a problem.take 5 qts of oil with you on the trip and as soon as it hits 3000 miles, stop and change the oil.
hehe i'm just kidding.don't worry about that.you'll be fine.good luck in vegas.
