ASA JH3s 18x8, LM-22s

I put 'em on already because I'll be away most of the next couple weeks on business.

How hard is it to put the wheels on yourself? I'm such a noob, sorry

Do you jack each corner of the car and do it separately? Also, is there a certain torque strength you need to tighten the bolts to?

Or is it basically pop off pop on?

Loosen lugs, jack up corner at proper jacking point, finish taking off lugs, remove wheel, (remove safety plug on front wheel hubs if they interfere with mounting - they're there for OEM wheels so rear wheels are not accidentally put on the front hubs), set new wheel on hub, put on lugs snuggly, lower car back down, (using proper star pattern) torque down lugs to around 80 ft-lbs. Service manual says torque them to between such and such numbers, and the average of the numbers they used averaged out to around 80 so we went with 80 ft-lbs.

Check torque on lug nuts after about 150-200 miles of driving to ensure the wheels haven't compressed at all which would loosen the nuts.

Those JH3's look great! Wonder if you got them from me? I've done a couple of packs with that wheel on G's so far.

Re: Snow tires: Blizzak LM22 or WS 50?

Just out of curiosity, for those of you who are using the OEM 17" setup for winter (225 in front, 235 in back), do you remain staggered for winter or did you buy a set of 4 225's for the purpose of rotating them for even wear in all 4 corners?? Is there any advantage to remaining staggered for the winter (235's in back) ?? Also, are there any noticeable drawbacks in mounting a narrower 225 tire on the wider 8" rim in back??

Thanks

Neil

Cant run the same sized 225's all around. The tires have to be taller in the back have it be a 225/50-17 front - 225/55-17 rear or 225/50-17 front - 235/50-17rear. If not, you could have issues with the VDC and or ABS on the car. I ran the 225 combo cause narrower tire cut thru the snow better than wider tires do. It worked excellent!

Yep...I 've got 225-50-17 front and 225-55-17 rear mounted on Sport Edition Fox 5 rims. BTW I'm using Dunlop Graspic DS2 tires. I've no experience with them in the snow yet but on the street @ 60 degrees they handle a little sloppy. But the whole package was less than a grand from Tire Rack.

Re: ASA JH3s 18x8, LM-22s

XCELR8: I got them through TireRack mounted and balanced. If you mean you work for them, all I know is whomever did mine the first time shipped me two sets of front passenger and rear driver's side wheel/tire combos. I had to get TireRack to ship me the two I was missing and repack the two extras for UPS to come pick up. A bit of a hassle but as long as those two extras get back to TireRack okay, I won't complain. =P

Are those 17" or 18"? I ordered 17" with Dunlop M3, same wheels. They look great!

They're available in 18" in the Winter Wheel & Tire package if you put in your car as the G35 Coupe with the 18" Wheel/Tire Package.
