PLEASE HELP G35 Brakes Conflict

Hello everyone. The problem I am having is that I just purchased a 2004 G35 coupe 6 speed from the dealer. It seems like the person who traded that car in before I bought it down graded to non Brembo brake system. Whats happening is that the brake pads are over lapping the rotor. A half of the brake pad is on the rotor and the other half is off the rotor. I believe that the person before trading in this car took the Brembo brake system to make some money off of it and the dealer didn't realize. I have been told that there is a way to down grade from Brembo brake system to non Brembo brake system. Is this true? They put the caliper that are non Brembo, the silver ones and the rotors and pads are for the non Brembo calipers as well.

They probably took the Brembo Calipers but lef the Brembo rotors on which are slightly smaller than OEM non Brembo rotors

Well today I went to the dealership and I got the rotors for the non brembo brake system and they are the same rotors as the ones on the car now. I don't understand. The rotors are small in diameter they are 11.5 inches long. It almost seems like they have to be 12.5 or 12 but then again i am afraid that caliper bracket then might not hold. IDK im confused.

i think they used different knuckles for the brembo system so it sounds like the previous owner bolted up regular caliper brackets to the knuckle made for the Brembo system. I may be wrong, but see if you can compare your knuckle to a regular (non-brembo) one

coupetech that is about the best answer I have got all day I appreciate you replying. Im just going back to the dealer tommorow and either returning the car or having them fix it. I am still covered under the used vehicle warranty law here in Massachusetts. This is a safety hazard and I am not enjoying the car at all. I was so happy today when I picked it up and it turned out to be a the worst day ever.

People have swapped Brembo into non brembo cars all that was needed was the Brembo calipers/Rotors/Pads/Brake Lines.

The knuckle is not different

The brembo 12.8" front rotors are bigger than the 05-07 2 piston 12.6" rotors and much bigger than the 11.8" 03-04 1 piston non brembo rotors. I think you probably have the 05-07 2 piston calipers paired up with the 11.8" rotors.

Factory Brakes!

You've got a double post going here. Here's a picture of the 03-04 factory Non-Brembo rotors/calipers. Compare your's to these. How do they differ?
