End spots or even some have checkered hash marks even further than the end spots I will park in. Parking as far away from the entrance in the lot as possible cause most people are lazy and don't wanna walk 1/2 mile.

I also find the more effort and thought I put into it, the ****tier the parking job ppl do around my G

I'd only do that if I had a REALLY nice car. If not then that's just too much.. because you gotta think about it.. what if the car that you parked next to pulled out and another car was in it's place and that's the car that caused the dent? Or it wasn't even the second car.. it was the 3rd car..

Better to just park between two nice cars or next to a nicer car instead of a piece of **** 1990s car with a ton of clearcoat failure all over the hood, roof, and trunk.

I think I am going to use that method from now on. Never thought about that.

It makes me so mad when I park next to some dumbass and he opens his door without paying attention so yes i do get paranoid. I also get annoyed when people see I'm driving a manual and they come closer to my bumper.

Hahaha! Most people can't tell your driving a manual just by looking at the back of your car. Only way you could tell is by listening to the exhaust or by paying close attention to the "jerking action" when you shift.....if there's any. But then you would have to be a car guy to pick all this up....and again most people aren't. My $.2

Parking lots are the most dangerous places in the world for our G35s! We have those craze's that drive too fast or don't know what the arrows indicate so when backing up you gotta look in all directions. You don't ever want to park behind anyone that acts odd or strange....that cost me $500 to have my bumper repainted. Finding an end spot where you can hang over the line to give you more room is advisable. You never want to take two spots cause that's the best way to get keyed by some hater. I normally drop my wife off and go in search of the best parking spot, thank God she doesn't mind walking after shopping. Then there's speed bumps, low curbs and those stops that destroy your front bumpers if you get to close. Parking lots, not my favorite place to be....

I'm glad I found this thread, now I know I'm not alone. Hahaha, usually takes longer to find a good spot to park, get out, circle around my car, lock it, debate if it's a good spot, maybe get back in and move it a bit, get out, and lock it again, and maybe one more lock for good luck, than it does to actually run into the store and do what I need to do. Feels good knowing I'm not the only crazy one who actually values my investments.

What I like to do is "roll back" a bit and warn them not to be too close. If they do get too close and I hit them, it would be their fault and I get a new bumper. Don't give a flip if it's only a $100 damage. I'm getting a new bumper.

It's certainly not as cut and dry as you try to make it. The driver behind is legally required to leave 'reasonable' distance. That is determined by the cop on the scene. I wouldn't try it just to hope for a bumper.

And you're going to have to roll back pretty damn hard to get your bumper replaced. Under most circumstances, rolling back at 2-3 MPH will get you some scuff marks and some new paint, not a wrecked and replaced bumper.

^ true, but, the G35 rear bumper are pretty thin, a 2-3 mph bump would cause the paint to crack and the bumper to deform just a bit. And it would need to be treated with a heat gun to get the bumper back into it's proper form.

if ur paranoid park farthur lol. btw for future reference try to park so only a car could park on either side to reduce the chances of damages rather then parking in the middle and allowing cars to park on both sides of ur car. thats wat i do
