All you manual-ites are going to look funny when all the sports cars finally go manumatic. This is only the beginning. Technolgy moves foward. You guy can use a typewriter if you want, but I'll go with the better technology.

I'll trust a computer to do my math, accounting, taxes and word processing (with a spell check)...but I'm not going to let it tell me how to drive my car... :-p

No I really do not know my answer... becasue if I have to wait 3-4 months to get a manual and the same car shows up with the 5AT next month you bet your bottom line I will get it... Shifting is fun but I also can live with the manumatic... thanks all again...

Re: Your opinion counts here!

Manumatics are still automatics. An automatic transmission looses too much power in the drivetrain. The technologies that are eventually going to threaten manuals are SMG's and CVT's. And I fail to see how anyone's going to look funny. Besides, for shear reliability, the manual still out-does the others on simplicity alone.

i agree with Ryoken..... as long as there's a torque converter, you are gonna lose power,
there's nothing like the instant gratification of shifting down from 6th to 3rd in 1/2 a second

Except, maybe, the gratification of doing it in an SMG transmission in 0.08 seconds.

Re: Your opinion counts here!

Well I couldn't say no to the racer-boy inside. So I got the 6MT. It embodies (to me), the reason for a having a sports car. However, I drive in stop and go traffic everyday and kinda regret not having the AT during that 1.5 hour drive. Of course on the weekend when I wind her up on a twisty road along the ocean I thank my "inner racer boy" for getting the 6MT. I would say if you are used a stick and the drive isn't too bad then 6MT it is. They are both super fast and G's not matter what. Enjoy!

Re: Your opinion counts here!

Well the Auto and Manny have the same amount of power. You can have just as much fun playing with the Shifter in the auto one. If the Manny had more power I would suggest getting that but since they have the same amount of power go for an auto. I live in Cali and my is freeway, bumper 2 bumper so it's an auto.. It's a fun car and I bet would be just as fun when I break it in. I tested out the shifter in the auto and it's very nice. Go for the auto!!!

Re: Your opinion counts here!

Thanks to all who responded with opinions... Since this is not my every day wheels.. I am going to wait the long 4+ months and get the 6mt... If it were my comute to work car then I would have considered the 5AT.. I am sure both are really nice and I know all are happy with their purchase...
