Did anyone ever think about wrapping the steering wheel with suede? Does anyone in this forum have it? I think the leather is a little to slippery during winters and with suede, it should be a better feel. I was thinking about doing that and suede ceiling covers. What do you guys think?

Suede headliner and door inserts has been done (https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...sed&sb=5&part=). I have actually thought about doing the wheel myself (the headliner is a definite... the willow looks stupid IMO) but haven't gotten past the planning process... the headliner comes first.

I definitely want to do something like that in grey. I wonder why that person didn't wrap the front door panels in suede? How much does a job like that cost?

I asked him about it and he got a deal on it because he knew someone so he only had to buy materials. I would imagine it would be between $600-800. I would probably not do the door inserts and just stick with doing the pillars and headliner, saving some money at the same time. My guess for the headliner and pillars would be ~$500.

For headliner......What about using that microfiber faux suede that some new couches are made of? It would be easier to clean, won't be as expensive, and you could brush it easier so all the 'fur' is going the same direction.
As for a suede steering wheel cover, I would guess that greasy paws will discolor the suede and it will look brown and dingy after a week, and you will mat down the 'fur' in the areas that you hold the wheel.

I was thinking the same thing and going with the microfiber would be much cheaper. I know over time, the parts of the steering wheel would fade and discolor but the feel of that material when handling the car makes the experience better imo. i'll check out what i can do.

I agree, unless you're wearing gloves when you drive, your sweaty hands are going to wreak havoc on a suede steering wheel.
