Weird abs vdc and slip light behavior
Weird abs vdc and slip light behavior
I know that when they stay on, the car is in limp mode and needs to be fixed and what not, but thats not what my baby is doing
Whenever i turn her on, she starts up rough (the revs go to 1.5k then drop to 700, or she'll start at 700 and dip down then go up to 900 and dip then go to 1k then back down to 700 its all really weird)
The abs vdc and slip lights come on for about 2 seconds
then they turn off
is this any indication of anything to come? is it just weird behavior?

most likely a misfire due to bad ignition coils. The ABS/VDC system loses the engine speed signal and trips the light to come on..sometimes the check engine light will come on with them.
Go to Autozone or other national auto part store and have them do OBDII engine scan for free. Should give you a code.
Misfire problems from bad coil pack causes the service engine light to blink.
Limp mode maybe due to cam/crankshaft sensor going bad.

^not always. Depends how the coil pack has failed, it can still fire the plug but the engine speed signal generated by it can malfunction w/o causing a misfire. Once the ABS/VDC control unit loses that signal it trips those lights, scanning the ECU w/ no check engine light wont reveal anything. The ABS computer needs to be scanned for ABS/VDC/SLIP light
