insurance questions...

have anyone experience this with a insurance company?

recently had my dd deck/metra kit stolen. now my deductible is 1000. i have progressive insurance and they have a concerige service where they take the car and fix it all up for you or i can choose a shop of my choice.

wondering if anyone had a situation like this? and their experience?

i bought my pioneer avic z3 for 390 refurbished and on a sale. original price is at 1800 on the pioneer website.

so im a little confused. this is the first time this has happened.

any suggestions/ input would be awesome guys.

thanks

call and find out if your insurance will cover your aftermarket equipment.

and if they do, they'll reimburse you for the radio equipment. you have receipts or a bank statement? if your expecting the 1800 amount, you can say you paid cash..

since your deductable is 1000, might as well just replace it yourself and forget about going through insurance. going through insurance your only saving 800 for a new one. and if you're trying to scam the insurance company by running with the 800 and purchasing another refurbished radio... shouldn't have posted your actual purchase price.

did anything else get damaged?

Where are you located? Insurance varries between states. At Farmers we currently offer 1000 of additional equipment for free. If you have a loss above that there is no coverage, unless you increased your coverage. If you in Cali PM and I can help with Insurance.

Not exactly nuts. 1000 is usually the highest offered deductible from any car insurance. And choosing it saves you a big chunk on the premiums. Having lower deductibles usually means ppl make more claims, smaller claims. And it's the number of claims that will make ur insurance skyrocket.

Besides, with the kind of cars we got, anything bad that happens usually costs over 1000 anyway.

I feel $1k deductible is too high and has zero to do with how often we make claims. This kinda thread brings out members selling their insurance which I find hilarious especially from Farmers. Good insurance company yes, but their premiums are much higher and offer considerably less benefits than AutoClub....as an example! When you buy an aftermarket anything for your Infiniti you should let your insurance know so you're covered....before it's stolen!

5000 deductible are offered if you'd like. However I've never seen a policy with one. You are exactly right about lower deductibles. More claims means higher rates for everyone.

You are wrong about a high or lower deductible having zero impact on claims; think about what you're saying. Auto Club is a good company but the agents get paid on a one time sale. They have no vested interest to keep you happy the next year as they already got paid on you. There is a difference with having a personal agent and sometimes that comes with added cost, sometimes it's less.

On home insurance Auto Club/ AAA will not insure certain breads of dogs.

What most people don't realize is that you can have a 1000 deductible for collision and a 250 deductible for comprehensive. The collision deductible is the more expensive coverage and it doesn't cost much more to lower you comprehensive deductible to 250, just FYI.

Fvck Me!!! I'm in Atlanta and I can't find any insurance under $300 a month. I'm almost 25, out of grad school, working professionally, only have one minor at fault accident in June which $1400 was paid out to shut them up. When I come on here and read the prices others are getting it really pisses me off. I feel gypped for no good reason.

WTF am I doing wrong here? Amica wanted $7000 a year!!!

I drive a 08 g35xs btw. Someone help me out?

not too crazy .. I used to pay about $6,000 a year but I live in NJ and we're pretty much the highest insurance state .. a LOT of companies price you based on tiers and age has a LOT to do with it .. some price you lower once you hit 25 while other wait until you are 30 (age, for the most part, results in a more mature driving style) .. I luck out because I'm in the insurance business and the agency I own offers me some great discounts with the companies

also .. an at fault accident can cause you to be surcharged anywhere from 3-5 years so you're SOL with that .. I'd say quote around a bit, I'm sure you can find cheaper .. also, do you have well established credit ?? sometimes that plays a role in the quoting process AND if you can most companies offer hundreds cheaper for paid in full policies (which is what I do) .. once a year you write the check and you have peace of mind until renewal lol .. good luck

not worth it to go through deductable if you could just buy a new one for 390 refurbished on sale again. if you got the deal before I`m sure you can get it again. Its better then paying 1000 bucks through your insurance and you avoid the hassle, if you had a deductable like mine (200) then it wouldn`t be issue, just claim it, but 1000 bucks is pretty steep.

You should have gotten your car fingerprinted. The douche who broke into my old car, left his prints and the detective traced the print to some HS kid. Long story short, I got him to pay me restitution for the damages times 2.

And all I had to do was sign some paperwork that was mailed to me. Didn't even have to show up to court.

I pay around $1100 per yer with full coverage on my 05 G coupe. But I'm now 28.. I've been insured with the company for years, never had a claim, bought my house (which is also insured by the same company) when I was 25 and have a solid credit score. I also have never had a speeding ticket or any other traffice violation that can screw with your rates.
