Engine oil Brand
actually castrol0w30 is thicker than 5w at operating temp. I will try 5w30 next oil change but I like 0w30 castrol other than the ticking noise lol
The 0W cold rating isn't going to harm your car... it's only at 0 Weight for a very short time when the oil is dead cold and the difference is negligible between that and a 5 weight. Once your car starts to reach about 130 or more degrees F, the viscosity is rising closer to a 30 weight, and is a full 30 weight at operating temperatures. You shouldn't be driving your car hard when it's dead cold anyways.... but, for most people, the oil is going to be at around 130+ degrees after the car has been running for only 1 minute or less. Keep in mind that our cars have coolant temperature gauges, not oil temperature gauges(unless you install an oil temp gauge), so you can't really go by that gauge to tell how warm the oil is... and even if you could, there's no numbers on it.
They measure those 2 oil weights at 40 and 100 degrees Celsius(104 and 212 degrees Fahrenheit), and that's how you get the multi-grade rating.

Hey guys i been putting in nothing but mobile 1 5w30 fully synthetic in the winter and switch between 10w 30 fully synthetic for the summer.. My engine runs clean no problems with the ticking... but at around 2200 miles in on the oil change if i am holding 2500 RPMs steady the engine at around then usually makes a different noise when i am cruising the highway.. should i switch to something different any preferences guys i am up for?
Eneos is dayuum expensive for an oil change
