I think buying used is the way to go as long as your expectations are in line with what you are getting. I bought an 07 G35X last year with about 50K miles on it. Bought it from a high end used car dealer. It still looks new, smells new and drives new. Has Nav and all that crap. One owner. Full service records. Got it for $24K.

A couple of months ago I got an 06 Coupe 6MT from an Infiniti dealership. It had 75K miles on it. New clutch. Newish tires. Looks good but slight variation in paint color of driver side front quarter panel indicates a wreck at some point. It did not show up on CarFax. Suspension components on that side look fine. It drives great but has lots of rattles and squeaks in the interior which looks good. Smelled like cheap air freshener but that's gone now. Two owners. Full service record. Paid about $17k. (Remember, 6MT has 19" forged rims, a little more HP, sport suspension, yadda yadda yadda).

Anyway, I got two decent cars for the price of one new one.

George

Hopefully it will once it gains enough momentum. I think it's a great idea. Anything to reduce the clutter or noob posts!

+1, it is a good idea, but noobs never search so this will be a fail. They will continue to create threads just to ask questions that have been covered a thousand times...

Buying used is a good way to save money, but some ppl like to have it brand new with no problems. I am sure somebody like, Gary perhaps, only likes to buy new... BTW not judging Gary hahahah

I've never understood why people think this is a problem. If I see a question I'm not interested in I just ignore it. Its no skin off my nose if people post the same question over and over again. And if you do read those threads you will often find that different people answer them and you can get new info every time. I just don't see it as a problem. More bandwidth gets wasted from people complaining about duplicate questions and angrily telling noobs to use the search function.

TJ, I agree. Sometimes a new car is just what you want/need.
