Question Fog Lights & Hi Beams Same Bulb?

Are our fog lights and Hi-beams the same bulbs. I am looking at some LED 6000K 9003 Fog light bulbs and was wodnering how this would work. They say they are HB2. heres the link on ebay. Would these act as both the Hi and Fog?

What year is your G? I have an '06 and the city lights are in the same housing as the fog lights. The fog lights are under the projector headlights. The headlights have the stock ballasts but the fogs don't. You would need to buy the kit to convert your fogs to HID as far as the '06 goes.

I have an 05. My City lights are not in my fog housing. My fog an hi-beam are in the same housing or are the same bulb?? I dont want to convert the HI-Beam to HID yet because if they are the same bulb i want Yellow fogs. If there seperate bulbs than I want 6000k HID Hi-beams and separate Yellow Fogs.

the h4 fog lights have high beam capababilities, but if your looking for 6k hid high beams, you need to convert the high beam to hid. they are not the same bulbs.

Gotcha, I know you can get bulbs that are color temperature 6000k and they are obviously not as bright as HID but put out the same color as my regular HIDs do. So thats why i was thinking If i at least got 6000k color regular bulbs for now they would be the same color just not as bright.

If i did convert to HID HI-Beams would I loose function of my Fogs?

Yea i know what you mean, I'm running 6k hids and 3k xenon light bulbs, out of curiousity, i bought the xenon 6k bulbs(non hid) to see how it would match up, but from what I was able to see, it wasnt hid 6k (which i expected), but it wasnt 6k white either. I'm not sure If I'm correct, but i found a thread a while back talking about changing the fogs to HID, I think you need a certain HID kit to maintain your HID fog and HID high-beam, otherwise you gain HID fog lights but you lose your HI-beam capabilities.

Yes, if you got 3K xenon bulbs, it would make your HI-beams into a yellow color. Although i rarely use the high beams anymore because switching from OEM to yellow, you lose much of your high beam although it still works, it just doesnt shine as much as OEM does. Though i dont mind becuase 3k yellow fogs look awefully nice with 6k hids.

Thats what i thought. We must be going for the same setup. Im actually gonna be modding my headlights this winter and taking the bottom drivers side completely out and creating an air intake duct through it so i was thinking about getting an aftermarket HID yellow fog kit and putting it behind my bumper. I wont have hi or a fog once i do that so its prob a waste of money. But i am only doing it on one side. Wonder if anyone else has tried this or made a DIY or something to do it.
