Paint Quality ?

I was curious to hear what G35 owners think about their paint.....seeing as on 350Z forums, most owners whine about the fragile paint. Is it the same story for the G35 ???

Unfortunately, I think this is an issue with all newer paints. Personally, I haven't had any problems yet. I haven't gone through a winter with it yet though and may have to park it to avoid a repaint.

yeah, it's prone to chipping in the front bumper area. as stated before, it's due to new paint regulations in the car industry. but, all you need is to clearbra the front and you're good to go.

Re: Paint Quality ?

It's not a problem limited to certain auto manufacturers. Today's government regulations made paint much softer than before. Your best bet is to get a clearbra.

Re: Paint Quality ?

Paint is not to good at all, I have the Colgain Bra and where the Bra covers if fine. I actually have chips from 1/3 of the way up the hood to the windshield. 1 or 2 of them are prett big and not even the clear bra would protect from those. I also have stars in my windshield and alot of little pits. So the paint and the windshield in my book are not the greatest.

Re: Paint Quality ?

The paint on the G35 and 350Z is fragile - it swirls and chips easily. This is due to the poor flex agent Nissan puts in their paint.

The line about it being a "government problem" is complete bull. Though there may be certain regulations made on cars manufactured in the US, all new cars do NOT have shoddy paint. Do new BMWs have the same chipping problem? Mine certainly doesn't.

I suggest you get a clearbra for your G35.
Edited by shivak on 10/16/04 06:02 PM.
