Roof Overlay Removal

For those who had their roof overlay, has anyone try to remove them?

I plan to remove it, but I have the overlay there for like 2 years and i don't know if the Sun/heat will have any effect on the factory paint that has been underneath it.

Does anyone know or have done this? If someone can shine some lights, it'll be great.

Thanks.

a friend removed his. put the car in paint shop oven for a couple of hours and then peeled it off in one piece. He had the nyloc carbon fiber wrap. it did leave some sticky residue but that came off very easily.

Yes;
It's a royal PITA!

I parked it in the hot sun for an hour before starting.
I also used a heat gun with 2 people; one heating & one pealing.
Where it wraps around the edges is the worst part.

Also, it doesn't come off clean.
You get residual glue left behind with is another big job to clean up.

Plan on it taking a good part of a day to get it done; good luck.

So the factory paint that's been underneath it is still good?
