Which brings us to an ironic point...
Many on here are looking for every extra bit of HP and modding their motors, are we to believe that all these same people are only doing so for the 'track'... umm highly doubt it.
I'll bet many of those preaching to keep it on the track have raced somebody while traveling down a freeway within the last week or two.
I really get a kick out of coming here and reading all the posts from people that are simply way too young and/or irresponsible to own a vehicle like this, while it's no exotic sports car this is a BIG BOY car and if you cannot behave as such then you should not be driving one, plain and simple. My cousin had that Mario Andretti attitude until he totaled his car sideways into a wall trying to race another vehicle that he knew was faster, proved something there eh.
g35guy4, glad to hear you are ok and that you have come to your senses, it's just too bad that most others on here will not until they too do something stupid.
* Ah, it appears this was an old post that was revived from the scrap heap... but the OP's point is just as vaild today as it was when this happend.
Regards,
Jason

And there you have it...
"their own prerogative" makes about as much sense as getting a ***** enlargement and then never having sex. Why build a motor for more power if you have no intention of using said power? Obviously everyone on here is not using their HP gains on a closed track, or doing it simply for a show car, cars like these build aggressive (behind the wheel) behavior and for those too irresponsible to handle it things can turn ugly in a millisecond.
I know many on here are responsible adults and treat these cars with the respect that they deserve while on the road but there are others here that go down a different path and it's obvious by the comments that can be read all over this forum. The OP admitted to it and obviously recognized that many here thought the same way he did, I commend him for his honesty but the reality is that many people never get a chance to come onto a board like this and share their story.
Anyway I am not trying to argue with anybody, my point was simply to be very aware and careful of just what it is that you are doing behind the wheel, it's a fun car and we are all here because we enjoy the car but it is very easy to have an 'invincible' attitude, at least until it's too late.
Sorry if my comments offended anybody, it was not my intent, I guess I just take this subject very serious as I have lost two close friends over the years to automobile accidents that could have been avoided had they been more responsible behind the wheel.
Drive safe,
Jason
