Re: 15mpg common?
Depends on how heavy your foot is! Driving habits can effect gas mileage severely. If you go from light to light nice n easy, granny shifting at 2500 etc., you'll get much better mileage! The problem with our cars isthe exhaust note sounds best around 3500-4K and it feels great to get on it, therefore, fuels consumption tends to be a little more! LOL

15+/- mpg = all too common
Esp. when you start modding... you have to test out everything, don't you?

Re: 15mpg common?
I average 17 with 31,000 miles... The future doesn't look much brighter. I tend to get better gas milage with Shell gas than BP though, strange... I might have to get a shell credit card and ditch my BP one.
I've never gone a tank of gas without pushing the car though. Everytime I get a full tank I say I'm not going to push it this week to see if I can get 20+ mpg, but I always forget...

Re: 15mpg common?
This topics comes up monthly, but I'll post again. I've been consistently getting about 20mpg. I have AC Econ on 100% at around 69 deg. I live in Seattle where it doesn't get hot most of the time, but in the summer it does get up into the 80's (if you're used to 60 deg whether, 80 degs is hot :P ). My commute daily is 13 miles one way with about 90% of it on the freeway. Considering my old Pathfinder got 15 mpg and definately not as fun to drive, I'm pretty happy with the mileage. I do like to drive a bit aggressive, but I rarely hit WOT.
Re: 15mpg common?

Re: 15mpg common?
Do you have a lot of short trips? Is your commute short? This will cause MPG to be low.
There was an interesting article in Nov. Car And Driver. I think it was Csaba Csere's column...he talked about what affects MPG and also said that Canada & Europe use 'gallonage' instead of mileage. That means you use xxx gallons of gas to go 100 miles. I think SUV drivers would be a little shocked to see how much gas they're sucking up.

Re: 15mpg common?
Try a tank of full highway driving. You should get over 20 mpg.
Here in Orlando, the lights are all 5 minutes long while I'm getting 0 mpg.
I've been getting around 15 with all city driving. Not bad for a car with 280Hp.

Re: 15mpg common?
Only if you have the Navi. If you don't or if you do and want to check it al you have to do is divide the number miles on your tripometer (providing you reset it during your last complete fill up) by the number of gallons it took to fill up. For examle, if you have 312 miles on your trip and you took 16.83 gallons, then you got 18.54 MPG!
I am curious to see if anyone with the Navi has actually checked it manually and what the results were.

Re: 15mpg common?
I do the mileage calculations in my head every time I get gas... (force of habit). The Nav is not that acurate... it's telling me I'm getting 18.0mpg when actually, I'm getting closer to ~20mpg... almost all freeway driving or open roads... I took a road trip once... and it was accurate back then cause I got ~26mpg... from NY to Montreal... So I guess the Nav is close enough. More of a fun feature on your car!
