I was also considering the motorized license plate, but it doesn't really go with the stock bumpers.

I think I got mine for around 130 shipped. they also sell one that doesnt have a motor and you just manually pull it in and out. same thing just minus the "whoa cool!" factor haha

Ya i would definitely go for the one with motor, because if I get pulled over and have it hidden at that point, I wouldn't get out to go to the front to put it up....lol

It should work on any bumper. Just mount it on the bottom.

Well, if you still flip it up, the actual flip up device itself will still be underneath the bumper lol. So you'll still scrape that.

Edit: yeah, its pretty much mountable on any bumper. Seen here

But, TBH. I wouldn't bother with that. Here is my solution on my G35 before I sold it ofcourse.

I mounted a smoke cover and black frame around the front plate. It made it look cleaner that just a plate mounted by itself imo.

It's probably you're best & cheapest option. Airflow shouldn't be affected. You can literally block out all of the bottom vents and it will do fine. ( Not recommended, you'll look like a fool. ) hahah

Where in California are you at?
