Spark plug oil *pik*

the oil is not directly in the spark plug hole, but when I pulled out the coil pack there was some oil I believe around the edge where the red arrow is pointed towards, is that normal?

yeah I saw that post but theirs were inside the spark plug area instead of at the edge of the coil pack area that's why I was wondering if its the same symptoms

Yours looks considerably cleaner than the ones posted in the thread mentioned above. I would say your fine unless you found oil in one of the other plugs. But I'm no mechanic...

yeah its pretty clean inside, but at the edge where the red arrow is pointed there is oil there, and I'm not sure if there is suppose to be there.

I'm going in for the airbag recall so I mind as well do this if the oil isn't suppose to be in that area.

BTW is having sxexcx grounding kit installed fine to leave on? or will they make a big deal about it causing problems to the valve area which cause it to leak oil? lol

I doubt they will care if you have a grounding kit installed.

if you're still under warranty, get it fixed. thats a sign that the spark plug tube seals are leaking. once it gets worse, the oil will pool up around the plug and coil boot.

The fix is to replace the whole valve cover and not individual seals correct?

If OP is handy with tools there is another alternative to replace just the seals for about $60. https://g35driver.com/forums/vendor-...lve-cover.html

I'm not sure which cylinder is 6 but mine has oil in the one by the spark plug closest to the battery and firewall. I can somewhat feel it sputter a bit here and there as well. If I were to buy said kit above. 150 +100 core charge, is the install easy or should I take it to a mechanic?
