You do have to put on the A/C for it i to work fast - all of my recent cars have worked this way - so I don't blame the G!

By the way, the rear window defroster is really slow also!! It barely clears off a little Calif. moisture, I can't imagine what you guys do in the snow.

Our Coupes Have the "worst" defroster....

OK. I have a "grief" about our G coupes. I have never had a need to use my defroster until this past week. Those of you in So Cal know about the rain that we have had in the last couple of days.
I have set every temp, every button, every mode, and all fan speeds, and I'm still fogging up! What the hell? This is, by far, the worst defrost system that I have ever had, in any car that I have previously owned since 1975.
Anyone else have the same experience? Talk to me "Goose." I want to hear your story.
BTW, I actually don't exist, but I used to, I just wanted to vent. Thanks!!!!!

yup, i agree. this past week with the LA rain, i couldn't see jack! I found however, if you turned up the temperature to about 80ish, that helps.

Try turning on the AC. Clears it up in no time.

Our defroster is tricky. I have it in at least the mid-seventies w/AC on. If it doesn't defrost quick, turn the temp up. Then as soon as it defrosts, turn it off. This has worked for me.

AC works as a dehumidifier, that's your best bet along with a higher temp (don't assume AC is only useful for making things colder).

Yup, you HAVE to use the AC to defrost the windshield. I know this seems weird since I never had to use the AC to defrost on any of my previous cars, but this is the case for the G35.

strange.. i dont use AC.. and it clears it rigth up.. pretty quick actually.. i just turn it on, turn off AC, set it to mid 70s and thats that..

however the rear defroster is pure crap.. its takes 4 ever to defrost the rear .. i hate that

My windows clear up in a few seconds with no a/c.

First things first...how come I'm posting on Nov 22,2004, and its only October 22!!!!!!

Well well well.....Greg lives. thought you were overrun by gophers..

Leave it in the "auto" mode w/ AC on, the windows will defrost immediately......works both summer and winter temps.....
Colder is better in defrost mode, like someone else said, its the humidity that needs to be removed. Raising the temp in the car only makes it worse, especially in warmer weather.....

I agree, the rear window defogger is really slow in working......

Re: Our Coupes Have the "worst" defroster....

Make sure your recirculate button is not "on". This will cause the windows to fog more.

Re: Our Coupes Have the "worst" defroster....

when im home i just use my California Water Blade to wipe off the water on all the windows takes at most a minute
but 2 defrost the front windshield i usually have to put it to 80 and put it on auto and it gets rid of it in a couple of mins
dont leave ur door or window open while doing this cause of the diff outside/inside temp will make all your windows fog up
