Re: Seat Belt Hysterics

Don't forget what seatbelts are meant for....to save you from rocketing through the windshield in a crash....now if the the upper belt is right up against my neck and the lower belt is across my stomach instead of across my waist, I will be in serious trouble if I ever get in an accident.

I can see it now...I crash and my neck is sliced by the belt, spewing blood everywhere, and my stomach gets compressed and makes me pee my pants!

Re: Seat Belt Hysterics

just read up on our user manual ..

quote

"Seat Belt Extenders....if, because of body size or driving position, it is not possible to properly fit the lap-shoulder beld and fasten it, an extender is available. the extender adds approximately 8 inches of length and my used for either the driver or the front passanger seating position. see your INIFINITI dealer for assistance if extender is required."

end quote.. now i dont knwo if this is gonna solve a damn thing.. but im gonna stop by my dealer and take a look at this.. if it makes anything better.. i will post it info about it..

Re: Seat Belt Hysterics

I think the only complaint is that the arm rubs the top of the seatback for me. I don't carry very many passengers so the arm stays up for the most part and i don't really have any problems reachin it. I've owned nothing but coupes so it seems rather normal to me. And I've found motorized(passive) seatbelts are the worst. These have nearly strangled me on several occasions. And I've been trapped in a paseo once by it's seatbelt when my cousin caught the fender on his parents van while backing out of his driveway. So I've seen worse..IMO

Re: Seat Belt Hysterics

I asked my dealer about a seatbelt extender, but they have to order it and he doesnt' have a picture. The Infiniti site doesn't have a link either.

Does anyone know if this extender is just to extend the buckle for larger (no offense meant) people, or does this help w/ keeping the belt off your jugular?

Re: Seat Belt Hysterics

this is the first post that actually made me laugh out loud. not that the problems are funny, cuz with only 700 miles logged I just noticed my Fd up door on Sunday, but the way you wrote your comments was histerical.

Anyone figure out the fix for the passenger side buckle rattling against the B pillar and door while the seat is unoccupied?

For those that are dislocating their shoulders to grab the buckle (hahaha),
I just use my left hand and grab the belt from the bottom. My other
car which is also a 2door is the same way.

Agreed!
My seatbelt always get caught in the door.
It's irritating as fug.
Wish they had some type of "recall" to replace them.

Great post!

I've had my G for a month now, with 1500 miles on it so far. I haven't had the problems you guys are talking about like the passenger belt rattling when nobody is sitting there. I'm 6'3" and drive with the seat all the way back, which decreases the distance between the seat and the finger thing, so that may be why I don't have any problems. The first car I ever had was a '92 240SX which had motorized seatbelts and no airbag. That was 100 times worse than the G's setup.
