OK, I am having my bumper repainted to better match my car. The guy who did it before unfortunately no longer works there (imagine my surprise) and i can't just have the new guy do it, because the old guy did it as a side job on a saturday.

Anyways...could I save some money by sanding it down and doing prep work myself, or are we not really talking about much savings if i do that? I ask, because I also want to patch over the license plate holes and I don't want to add a bunch to the cost if I can help it. Any input would be appreciated.

 

my guess is it would depend on the shop whos doing it for some it doesint make much of a difference because they will probably complain about your work anyways where some shops will recognize it and give you some credibility.

 

Youre going to have to ask them if they will reduce the labor because you are doing your own.

 

Yeah, I'm no body man, that's for sure, but i did enjoy a couple bondo experiences in high school auto body shop about 10 years ago, haha. thanks for the input guys
