My service light came on! what could it be?

sigh, i noticed my SERVICE LIGHT come on today when i started my car up, this never happened until today, I can't think of what it could be, i know I don't need an oil change, cause its not due yet, can anyone tell me what it possibly is? I'm scared and hope it's nothing bad...

Does it stay on even after several starts? Sometime a loose gas cap can cause the light to come on. Make sure it's tight.

You may have to get your code read to see what's setting it off otherwise.
