Question '04 G35 Coupe Passenger Window Acting Up

Searched around and couldn't find an answer to this one guys! Thanks for the help in advance...

Noticed last night that the passenger window is acting up. When you try to use either set of controls in the cabin, it won't budge and I don't even hear it trying to go up or down. I know the motor isn't bad because when you open/close the door it still goes up and down a little to seal it.

If I'm not mistaken, it can't be a fuse because that would mean the driver side wouldn't work either (which it is working fine). I even tried the old "punch the door in the middle" trick with no luck.

I'm stumped, and figured I'd ask here before sadly taking it into the dealer for another bill to pay.

Thanks!

-Mike

son of a...looks like off to the dealer I go!

I am somewhat handy though, makes any sense to try to do it myself or is there some calibration that would be too much of a pain in the ***?

I second the bad motor! they can act in an intermittent way when they are about to take a crap. Double check there is no binding too, sometimes the window frame can be a little loose causing the motor to shut down temporarily.

You can buy a new motor fairly cheap at an auto parts store. AutoZone has them with a lifetime warranty for ~ $125 here. Install's pretty easy as well.

Make sure the window lock isn't on. Sounds silly but happens all the time.

You can try tapping (lightly) the motor with a hammer or something to see if it flinches. Works with starter motors sometimes.

Just dealt with this yesterday on my 03 driver side. Went down but never went up. Took the door apart to find the front window bolt was loose and caused binding which burnt out the motor. Very easy to take apart and change. Advanced Auto Parts has the motor for around 130. Ill be replacing mine soon. Good Luck
