New 04 G35 Owner here! Hi everyone!

Just picked up a silver 04 G35 coupe AUTO with 112k miles from a local car auction here in southern Tx for $8000.
Not too bad.. But Im sure I need to invest alot into getting her up to par with maintenance. She needs new plugs for sure.. And probably All fluids replaced and flushed..

She runs very well.. However she does have some issues..

1. The radio is really screwy. I cant seem to program my preset radio stations for some reason.

2. There are so many creaks and odd noises coming from EVERYWHERE.

3. My Hid's do not work.. They are blown maybe.. and I need to purchase some replacements.. Was thinking bout getting some cheap HID's on ebay.. Anyone have any suggestions?? Do I need to replace the bulb and the ballast? I have no knowledge in dealing with headlights..

Here is a Pic of my baby. (click to enlarge)

Welcome to DRIVER!

Very clean coupe from the pic you posted. With that many miles of the clock and no records I'd replace all fluids/belts and filters. You can do most of this yourself or have an independent shop handle it using Nissan fluids. With what's needed stay away for the dealerships due to much higher costs. Try www.infinitihelp.com for any information needed like the radio station resets you posted. They can answer all your questions or do a SEARCH here on DRIVER too.

thanks guys.
Yes Unfortunately, i could only afford a high mileage G.
It runs very well aside from the mentioned issues.
It pulls Very strong to the redline still.
This is my 3rd G35, and its just as responsive as the other two.

I hope to reach the 200k mark with proper care and maintenance..
I know its not a Honda, but do these engines typically last that long after 100k?

welcome! my only complaint on your car is the wheels - they should be something to considering losing - in my opinion. i got my 03 coupe with 80k and its currently sitting @ 140k. i plan to see it through college before i get another. you should be fine with proper maintenance, as for the radio - theyre bad to mess up. u can spend in the high hundreds to low $1k range getting it fixed or just buy a nice in-dash touch screen.

^ Your radio is messing up too???
=( I can live without the radio.. but will the climate control start messing up??....
Its gonna suck if Its stuck on heat mode in the summer time...

Wow 140k? What type of maintenance have you done? Any major issues with your car ??

Also, the wheels came with the car. I hate the damn things.. but cant afford to change em right now... I wish someone would just buy them.. They make my car look Ghetto..

I would love to put the 350z Track wheels or some black rotas on there..

The radio/cd players on our cars are known for issues. Rattles are common place as well and just about impossible to quiet down. The engine and transmissions on the 5speed automatics are bulletproof. It's a good idea go through the entire car and change all the fluids, belts, hoses, etc. Good luck, It's hard to go wrong for the price you paid for your car. These cars are l a great value for what you get.

Welcome and congrats on your purchase!
You should take your car in for a 120k maintainace and you can probably ask them to fix a few rattle issues if they are easy fix. A lot of the rattles are probably due to loose bolts and what not due to the milage of the car. Other than that, your car should be in great shape.

my radio was pretty screwed if you do wish to fix it send it to: electronics master repairs in atlanta - i live in birmingham and just drove over to have mine fixed. costly but he does great work and warrants it.

as far as maintenance: 4 quarts of mobil 1 synthetic oil then top it off with lucas synthetic oil. only things wrong. both seat motors had to be fixed and the radio. and i had the oil cooler o-ring leak but i fixed it with a little high temp RTV. if you dont dog it all the time and just keep a check on basic the car will last you! my ford explorer has 360k miles on it. only had the heater core replaced and the tranny tuned up!

My car had so many creaks at 30,000 miles, I can only imagine how bad it is at 112,000. Congrats on the buy though! That's a great price.
