Are you satisfied with the STOCK performance of your G??
I was happy with the power for about 4 months and then threw on a Stillen s/c which woke it up a bit....i bought it new in feb of 2003.After a couple years with the Stillen i decided on the Greddy twins and have been happy since.
but I have been in a G with the twins it is a different car I would say. Never driven one tho.
i would take an s2k over the g35 ANYDAY and twice on sunday
yah actually what happens is that the tire that gets rubbed off melts and lays itself back on the tire thus proving a stronger grip and in turn this translates to more ponypower to the wheels
it's a rare find and I am entering it for the noble prize soon

Many people forget the G35 was supposed to compete with the Audi A4, the BMW 330i, etc. It's not fast, BUT I WISH IT WAS! Should've come with something better than the DE, maybe the HR from 03 on
it was very disappointing in the performance for some reason i always thought they where fast but nope, happy that now i can move on and look for something else ?
gave it to my wife lol ( i do love the shape of the car )

i have a stock 06 g35 coupe, and i love it. the car i had before was a toyota camry, so the g35 was an enormous boost in performance. also, i have driven my friends 08 mustang(although it's not a gt), another friends PT Cruiser, another friends honda accord coupe, my sisters toyota corolla, a few suv's. None of the cars i just mentioned even come close to the g35. Not to say there aren't a lot of cars out there that can easily out-perform the g35, but the g35 is definitely a few steps above the "average car"
I’ve had mine just over 4 years, and while I’m looking to do K&N Cold Air Intake and Air Filter in the near future, my choice kinda explains my rationale for those minimal power-adders:
I’ll go with #1 and a caveat – SNEAKY fast.
I mean, it is a Nissan VQ-series engine, the only engine to be on the Ward’s top ten for the first 14 (or was it 15) years of it’s existence before falling off a couple years ago.
And at 280HP, combined with the way it’s tuned – with all that crazy mid range torque – I say (and feel in the performance) that it’s no slouch.
I roll in an 2006 Coupe, 5AT, and have learned from practice how to best run it in manual mode, which I do about 70% of the time.
Not to mention, by today’s speed standards (according to C&D or was it Motor Trend?), we are just within the “fast” borderline – to the ¼ mile at 100 mph.
That generally means 0-60 in no more than 5.5 or 5.6………maybe 5.7 depending on engine tune and possibly w/AWD traction depending of curb weight, of course. (From my research.)
In my just over 3500 lb. coupe I’m doing 5.5-5.6 all day long and hitting the quarter in 14.1 at 100.5 mph. Like I said, borderline fast.
So, before I go hunting for my next car – a Merc C63 AMG or Lexus IS-F – I think I’ll do some small things to get my power up around 300. No plans on trading the G, is what I'm trying to say.
Also, plan to lose some weigh up front to help my speed/front-rear balance – about 17 lb. according to Seibon. (Stock hood 37-39 lb.; Seibon 16-17 lb.)
Again, minimal stuff, but from my experience it will help performance as I wait patiently to get my hands on a TRUE hooligan beast-mobile……I’m thinking C63, preferably.
Yeah. An AMG-tuned 6.2 liter V8 stuffed into that little-bitty Benz will suit me just fine.
In the meantime, unless on is an impatient power junkie, I say we're a force to be reconned with.........though we must know our limits.
We aint that damn fast.

If your gonna compare the G to a sports car then no, of course its not fast. If you bought your G, and the only thing on your mind was gong fast, then your stupid cause there is alot better choices.
but... If you compare it to other entry luxury vehicles, then yes it is fast as hell. At its price tag, nothing beats it.

I think the G35 leaves a little more to be desired in terms of all out performance. I'm coming from a 5speed maxima that I routinely piloted to 14.0-14.2 in the 1/4mi. Earlier in the decade that car was beating lightly modded Mustang 4.6 and 5.0s. It was keeping most swapped civics, integras and mildy boosted hondas and any similar sized 6 cyl sedan or coupe at bay. It carried 5 people, a ton of luggage, surfboards on the roof and had 140+mph capability and still got no less than 25mpg during my regular commutes. If I drove the same way in my G I would struggle to make 19mpg. However my old modded maxima will never drive or feel as balanced as my G coupe does in stock form. It will never look as good or have a luxury feel. That being said the G35 just isn't an over achiever my 4th gen maxima was.
Since I had my drift spec S13 I bought the G as a car for a grown up. No STI or Evo would be nearly as quick as my play car (nor were they mature looking cars) and the Z didn't have backseats. I drove my 4door maxima for 8 years it was time to experience a coupe with backseats if needed. The story continues...

My trap was 108

Perfect...for now
I've had my coupe for a couple months now and still love it, especially after I've been driving the wife around in her Murano. I'm sure the mod bug will bite hard eventually, but in Hawaii you can't legally go over 60 and get arrested for 80, so the stock trim is just right.
