roadtrip of FAIL (need tech input)

okay so i was planning on either selling or winter storing my g coupe for a few projects HOWEVER, i decided to make one last road trip to Tampa for the weekend (~450 miles) after the trip down there, the next morning i noticed that once i started the car i heard a whirring noise, when i would engage the clutch, the whirring got louder and i could actually feel the vibrations in the shifter... it got quieter when the car heated up but needless to say it was definitely noticeable and worrying.. anyways, made the trip back a few days later, and noticed that when i got to about ~300 miles out, the AC stopped working.. no weird noises with it, just no cold air.. my inital thoughts without actually doing an in depth visual inspection is maybe my AC belt went out and my clutch is dying.. anyone have any "next step" ideas? things i need to visually check for etc...? thanks in advance

I don't think the things you mention are related. I have had my AC go out on longer trips. It doesn't really go out, but it stops blowing out of the vents. It still tries to blow, but the air doesn't come out of any of the vents. Stop the car for a couple of minutes, and it works fine again. There is a thread about this somewhere.

Take it to a shop to get it checked out.. Your clutch might be on it last leg..

whirring noise is normal if it is out of the transmission. once the car warms up (about 20 minutes) it will go away.

You store your car for winter and you are 450 miles from Tampa? I don't store and i live like 450 miles from the north pole hahaha.

haha not store as in truly winterize.. i just have a few things i wanna do but not much time, so maybe pull the car apart during the winter and start installing them... still haven't had time to do the transmission flush, prolly get on that after the holidays, but i think now i'll be doing the belts and replacing the fuel pump as well and just trying to get my baby back to new condition running, any other suggestions for parts i should look at for big time maintenance (fyi my car is at 99900)

if you're AC isnt blowing cold then something is prolly leaking and you're out of refrigerant. get it checked out. as far as the noise, these transmissions tend to make a couple different "normal" operating noises....kinda hard to diag on a forum lol

check your freon level. The ac can make a hissing noise when you first turn on the car when freon is low. The ac compressor will also shut itself down if the freon gets too low to prevent damage. When you stop for awhile, the freon recondenses so the ac works again. Anyways, freon is like $20-30 so its a relatively cheap fix, i would try that first.
