the thread we all dread
I have never heard of any insurance company, let alone State Farm paying 100%. I have always seen cars totaled once they hit around 70%. I have seen people push for it either way, getting less to keep the car and also had a friend push to get theirs totaled when it was right at the cut off point.
Sorry about your accident, I dislike seeing our rides in that kinda shape! I can't believe there's $9K worth of damage, that's gotta be stealership prices on the replacement parts. If it doesn't cause you to have your G totalled tell your insurance you want new replacement parts!

WTF there is deer in Charlotte???? I hope you killed that one so I don't have to worry about anymore running around.... jk, sorry to hear man.
Brain in Cornelius, NC is going to be parting out his coupe (same color). I would get as much as you can from insurance and buy all of his parts that are already painted... His car is for sale on charlotte.craigslist right now if you want to check it out.

really? I'm gonna go by the body shop in a few minutes.... I can tell them to save it for me? The other headlight is cracked a little bit on the inside so it'll have to be replaced too.

good news!! I talked to the owner of the body shop. His shop is very highly respected around charlotte. Enough so that people bring their brand new exotics to him to be tricked out, etc. So, I trust him for sure. Anyway, he said that the "Quality Replacement Parts" are used parts but they MUST meet his personal standards or he WILL NOT put them on the car and will then order new ones which he will then charge to State Farm. He said that he works with State Farm all the time and it's not going to be a problem.
Also, he's gonna professionally black out my grill for me, covered under insurance even though the busted one was blacked out by me with a can of Duplicolor
As far as the radiator and A/C component that needs replacement, he said they're brand new parts, made by the same manufacturers as the OEM, except they just aren't specifically designated "OEM," which we all know adds a lot of $
Long story short, I'm very happy with everything and if you need a body shop in Charlotte, I can direct you to the very best.

Whats the body shop? I think i know which one you're talking about, but just want to see if I'm right... I have a great body guy in Indian Trail if you need a second opinion. He does a great job, works in a beat up old garage behind a **** shop (lol), but still does a great job and his pricing is unbeatable.
have your inssurance "pay out" for full new and oem parts. Then take it to any body shop and get yourself some aftermarket parts. if you hand a body shop 6k cash, im sure they'll fix it. Use the rest on parts.
thats what im doing.
