G35 Coupe 40k plus miles Brembo Brake Performance

I am sort of a newbie but I have a brake question. I took my car in for service because in addition to the normal squeal of the Brembo brakes I am experiencing a grinding feeling of the pads against the rotors when I brake Duh? The service department advised me that was normal and I had 50 percent or so left before replacement. I have the 18 inch OEM wheels. Their advice pressure wash and keep the wheels clean.

Any other alternatives or suggestions? Noise and condition very annoying.

I have 25K on the clock and was amazed last week that the dealer told me I still have 75% pad in the front and about 70% in the rear left. I have not had any squealing problems with my Brembos however? I will agree with the dealer that keeping the wheels clean and pressure washing the calipers and rotors on a regular basis is a good way to keep them really clean! I find that the they are quite quiet actually, what tires are you running, believe it or not, that may be more of the noises you are hearing than the brakes?

Re: G35 Coupe 40k plus miles Brembo Brake Performance

I have a 2003.5 G35 Coupe 6MT. Last night, under heavy braking my brake light would flicker on. I called the dealer this morning, and they told me I will probably need new brake pads. I only have 24K miles on the odo and can't believe that it's time for new brakes. I also know that my Infiniti dealer here is "opportunistic" and would love to make $$ on changing brakes.

Has anyone had a similar experience, and if so, did it turn out to be worn brake pads or is it a brake fluid/pressure problem?

I've had the grinding on the brembos before and all it took was a pressure washer to the rotor and pad. It was a little dirty and that fixed it.

Well can I ask another question? Ive been researching and researching but do the brembro's last a long time in brake pads/rotors? Also is the alignment a problem or tire feathering? I know on the 350's it is but no one really answered it here. Any help? This is what is helping me decide if i want a g35 or not. Thanks.
