Pissed off Buyer

I am so pissed! I brought a G35 (desert platinum, premium option, nav, and tire package) for $36,395 back on March 2nd out in Long Island. I was expecting delivery April 22nd as the saleperson told me last week it would arrive.

Now he has the audacity to tell me he made a mistake, and now the car will arrive sometime in June. What pisses me off is that I think he's bullsh#@ing and and has given the car to someone else who probably paid more (under the table). Is there anything I can do except screaming at this idiot?

Did you have a VIN#? If so do a serch and see if it is in circulation or something like that... not sure really how to find out.... Sorry to hear about it...

No VIN number, no nothing, just broken promises

Should I even bother getting the 2003 model if I have to wait so long? I mean, a couple of more months and the 2004's will be out.

Hey Platnium Im in LI too, ordered mine from Smithtow Competition whatever it is, anyway was that where you got, or should have got, yours? Luckily I got my order # and told them to give me the vin# when they get it in a few weeks cause mine should be in in around the begining of june. Sorry to hear about your bad luck. Plz let us know what dealership it was.

I wasn't gonna say, but it's Northern Infinity in Great Neck. I should have asked for an order number to see exactly when the order was placed. Tx.

You can complain and possibly get some compensation. I doubt they'll knock money off the car, but maybe you can get a year's worth of oil changes or something out of them.

I called the dealership asking for the order# and they said they didn't have it yet. I asked when was the order placed, the manager said March 15th. According to Infinity Consumer Affairs, they should have the order number as soon as the order is placed.

Consumer Affairs will call that manager tomorrow asking about the order number.

They probably ordered "a car", intended for me, on March 15th, but decided to give it to someone else who was willing to pay more for it. Now, if I can get the order number i will be able to see if they ordered my car back in March or just recently.

I don't usually complain, but I gave them a $1000 deposit 6 weeks ago, and I want my G35!!!

I'm pretty sure that the orders in March were placed on either the 6th or 7th. Its true that the dealer should have an order # as soon as the order is placed, mine did. Have you tried any other dealerships in your area?

I feel your pain dude, my salesman told me a month after I "supposedly" placed my order+$500 that the options that I wanted could not be put on my car....I mean, why can't you tell me that on the day I ordered it? They were so freaking ruded to me, over the phone, in person, didn't matter, they treated me like I'm getting the car for free or something...like I'm stealing food from their children. And when I called them again a month later for my order # they said "Oh, don't worry, it's ordered, you don't need the number." I was like "No, I want the order number" but they gave me the run-around and now I'm going to drive down there to get my number or else how am I supposed to be sure that my car is ordered? Thank god I only have to deal with buying cars every 4-5 years, this is a pain in the ***.

Platinum, If they ordered your car in March like they say the order # should start with an F and it also should be here in June unfortunatly. Mine was ordered by me In February and then by the dealership in March and is expected in June, Possibly late May but im not getting my hopes up. and luckily that wasn't my delearship but still Sorry to hear. Good Luck finding your Coupe.

I feel ya bro! That sucks! Anyways, My dealer ordered my car April 3rd and i called on the 9th and got my order number from the GSM. Don't screw around with the sales person, go strt to the General Sales Manager. They were straight up with me and told me about 90 days possibly 60. So I expect the car to arrive in July. BTW, my order # started with a Q. I won't be able to get VIN until is on it's way across the Pacific.

Also, the March 15th order date sounds a little fishy to me, as I believe all dealerships (Infiniti) order the first week of the month. So your order should go in the same as mine.

Same, I have an April order (Q). I was told end of June or beginning of July.

I put my order in the last week of Feb but missed the March order because the dealer had more orders above me.

The dealer will have an order number if the order is placed. I was ready to walk to another dear if I didn't get an order number (or if the car wasn't actually ordered). Sure I'd have to wait even longer, but it's the principle that matters. They work for you. It's your money, the customer is always right, any more cliches?

I'm still excited about the car coming even though I'm having to wait an extra month. Don't be satisfied unless you get an order number. Just based on customer service satisfaction, they should make it mandatory that you are called to give you your order number. It gives you the warm and fuzzy that everything is going according to plan, and it makes them look like they care about your business.
