Going to look at a G35 today and have a few ??

Going to look at an 04 G35 Coupe 6spd today. Guy is asking 10K and it has navi.

He told me on the phone the clutch was acting up a little...how expensive are they to replace? Im coming from a 600RWHP fox body and am pretty mechanically inclined...is it a simple job?

The car has 99k on the odo....what am I looking for on these cars? I used to own an 03 sedan but it was new and under warranty.

Thanks and I hope to be a member of this fine family soon!

I hope that we can say welcome to the family... Still have the Fox Body? There are a few of us here that have both. My 90 GT is at 557whp.

As for ease of working on it.. I think the G's spark plugs are a freaking pain in the a$$ compared to my Mustang. As for the clutch and tranny stuff, I have never heard anyone say it was super expensive or hard to do. My 04 Coupe 6MT has 108k on it now... All I have done is change fluids and changed the battery this fall.

You bring up the spark plugs?! How about a simple headlamp replacement? That **** sucks!

As for replacing the clutch or anything else major, I'd think it would be a pain because everything is so tight and compact.

Good luck checking your oil level too.

My thoughts on the headlight bulbs... if and when one burns out again... I am taking the front bumper off and pulling the light out to change the bulb, fvck that inner fender $hit...

^^ That's exactly what I did. I tried turning the wheels to one side, going in through the inner fender wall, then repeating for the other side.... It was a painnn! Much easier to take off the bumper!

Overall, the G is actually pretty east to work on, the clutch is not hard at all and will be very similar to your fox body experiences. The cost will most likely be higher for parts depending on which direction you decide to go though...

OK GANG! I bought the car! Got it for 8k cause the clutch is bad (but still driveable) and there is only one aftermarket key...how much would it be to get a keyless for this car via infiniti?

What can i do for a clutch kit (does 350Z parts interchange)? Just want oem performance but not infiniti prices...lol. The clutch does not slip at all but only engages at the top 2 inches of the pedal....

Also, what can I do for the key issue?

help gang! and of course...pics....

8k? Damn that is a pretty good deal. First thing I would do is all the basic maintenance on the car. Also check the spark plugs for oil. There's a good chance the seals are bad by now and leaking oil onto the plugs. Usually happens at 70k...

Congrats on the purchase. 8k is a steal.

Depends. I would go with OEM because it'll make "less" noise with the dual mass flywheel.

As far as "brands" are concern, you can't go wrong with Exedy..

Will this work for my keyless as my car only came with an aftermarkey key?

http://www.remotesandkeys.com/Search...s.asp?Cat=2967

How hard are they to program?

No dents or tears? You may have just got the best deal on a G ever... I picked up my G sedan for the same price with 105k miles but, that was from a good friend. Congrats!
