driver's side window periodically fails to work when i push the button. i noticed that if i bump the upper door panel (near the window) i can either get the window to work or i can coax it to go up with several taps.

do you think my problem is the window motor or the regulator? anyone have a fix other than taking to the dealer?

 

it's the motor most likely. you will need to buy a new motor and replace it (unless its still under warranty of course)

 

Mine does this all the time. Sometimes when I push it to 'up' it goes down. Once it goes all the way down I push the button to 'up' and it goes all the way up.

Just a ridiculous problem in a car like this. I've been inside that door panel. Its scary how cheap every component in that door is. Absolute garbage.

Anyway, I would not mess with it if you can get the window to go back up.

 

For god's sake man, if you know the answer just say it or link to it. It really isn't that much more trouble than pointing out the search function.
