wow...that m3 just walked away from the evo...
lmao @ the guy in evo "common f*gg*t
Drove my friends sti this weekend (stock)...that thing really hauls ***, now I understand why some people would consider trading in the g for an evo/sti
Strongly agreed with 20psi's post
Ricer are those with tin can exhaust big enough to fit your *** in it...evo and sti's are def track cars...those who would like to mod their car for pure speed.

I just wanted to say that was one of funniest race vids I've seen in awhile and that evo owner who thought he was the shiznit deserved to get owned like that.
2K4 - 6 spd mt, diamond graphite coupe, z-tube, borla exhaust. Next mod: High flow cats or some type of test pipe.

Ok Ok I finally raced my friend's evo mr today after talking about it for so long. We went from 60 to 90 and then we shut down because of traffic. It was a nice quick race. I dont consider it a all out race, even though i did turn the vdc off and downshifted and everything and gave it my all. But my friend just broke his car in and he didn't want to run it too hard even though he broke it in already he wants to wait about another 100-200 miles or so. So we were right next to each other going about 60 when we both just hit the gas, i downshifted and we were speeding. We were dead even to about 80 when i pulled on him slightly but then we imediately had to shutdown at 90mph because of traffic. Afterwards i asked him when he shifted or if he redlined it he told me he shifted at 5k. So Im assuming he really didn't give it his all. Because his car redlines around 7 to 8k. But my question is had he gave it his all would i have lost this race? Because his turbo spools up at 3k already and he already revved it to 5k. and i did pull on him. If anything i think it would be pretty even if he redlined right? Im talkin about a race of top end power, like on a highway going pretty fast already before the race. I kno if its off the line it would be no contest. Does anyone know? Because i always thought once a turbocharged car's turbo spools up he is close to top end power already even tho he didn't exactly reach the rev limit yet. GUys help me analyze this little race we had. Because im sure we're going to go at it once my friend is ready to beat on his car.

HAHAHA. THAT GUY GOT OWNED. They couldn't even tell the difference between an M3 and an M5!
I raced an EVO MR today from a stand still just for kicks. I got completely owned. Couldn't get too fast because of upcoming red light. Fast little cars.
By the way another 2k-3k of of RPM to go is a lot. Why don't you try shifting at 5k rpm and see how much speed you lose? Just my 2cents.

I own both a 2004.5 G35 auto and a 2005 sti. The 2005 STIs are way nicer inside than the 2004 models with 6cd changers, auto climate control, auto everything, etc. I also feel the ride is very comfortable as opposed to what you may think with both wind and tire noise not too diff than the G. The G has lines to die for and feels soild (and heavy). The STI brings the beast out in you. Driving it gives you a rush that is hard to explain. The best solution to which to own is to own them both.

I had a experience with one yesterday, it seems most of the mr's I have seen have been owned by old guys lol. Anyways I saw him a few cars up so I decided to get behind him I smelled oil being burned so I know he down shifted and pulled along side he gunned as well as I did we were both doing 70, he didnt pull away at all I was with him till 90 and had him by a fender. My personal opinion that car is so small and looks funny but is all ***** out. Just my input for the day.

Screw the EVO anyways. All the EVO and STi guys are so cocky because they have a $30K tin can that does 0-60 in 5 seconds.
I'd rather pay $90K for a Porsche that delivers the same acceleration (but better handling and braking) before I'd pay $30K for a STi/EVO. There is so much more to sports cars than just numbers...it's about the way the car drives and feels, and the whole experience of it.

Since I have both cars, I guess you cannot say I don't know what I am talking about! The STI has so far had no rattles (as opposed to the G which has been in to the dealer 3 times to fix various nises/rattles) and wind noise in the STI is less than in my G. The ride is comfortable and the power addicting. The handeling is definitely superior to the the G. That said, the G is graceful and without a doubt gets you there with more grace and style. 0-60 in STI is 4.7 sec and the braking from 80-0 is within 3 feet of a porsche carrera. The reviewers in all car magazines have surely driven BMWs and porsches (and more) and yet are in love with the EVOs/STIs: there must more to these cars than just being "30k tin cans".
