G35 warranty coverage ( clutch )

I'm in Canada and my 2007 6MT is still under warranty.

Should the flywheel/pressure plate be covered by the warranty or not ?

found out that they are not.

I was basically told I need to replace the clutch and pressure plate. They quoted me roughly 900$ for these oem parts. Labor is +.

I can't seem to find a price for the oem clutch. The oem pressure plate is around 375$

Did they give me a good price ? Am I better off with an ACT kit for roughly the same price ? I found this one

edit: they were referring to the 'clutch' & pressure plate. Is the clutch the same thing as the disc ?

done. I e-mailed one of the vendors there.

I'm at 55k miles.

The dealership told me that the flywheel is just fine. Is it possible that only the clutch + pressure plate is worn out but not the flywheel.

Is it worth spending another 700$+ to replace the flywheel and save on labor later ? At what mileage does the flywheel usually go ?

Flywheel depends on your driving. If your aggressive i would say replace it. Without seeing pics we could never tell you. Look for burn or scorch marks and nicks in the flywheel. You want the surface to be as unmarred as possible.

I replaced mine just for piece of mind but at almost 1k a flywheel i had to go aftermarket at the time. Also my clutch was burnt up pretty good from the driver before so it was thin material to metal by the time i changed it out.

Is it possible to keep the flywheel stock but to use aftermarket disc + pressure plate ? Will this lead to increased load/wear on the flywheel ?

Nope should bolt right up. If your going with a clutch that grabs like stock should be fine.

can you recommend a clutch that grabs like stock ? I plan on keeping my car stock ( only has a ztube on it ). I also don't wish to go for JWT as I read that it causes a lot of chatter.

Thanks!

The flywheel is what causes the chatter. Its not dual massed like the OEM one so it vibrates when its spinnning with no pressure on it. Its not the actual clutch and pressure plate that chatters.
