I'm getting it too. The smell, the noise, and the smoke. What the **** is it? The front has been through one accident before and has been restored. Could it be it?

My car only has a smell. no smoke, no noises (other than squeaky glovebox and the rattling clutch issue). Just a smell of burnt rubber.

If you have smoke and noises, you are probably experiencing something much worse!

It's the oil filter. My friend told me. He knows about cars and I don't. I've been getting the regular oil changes but I've never changed the filter yet. Time to stop by Kragen, then I bring the car back to the oil changer guys and tell them to redo oil change and change filter? They recently kinda changed the oil too and I still have more mileage to go but whatever.

So I just checked my oil. I think it's pretty low. I'll go to an oil stop tomorrow. Buy a filter and change out the oil again. What filter and oil should I get? I don't know **** about G35 but it has oil consumption issues.

Yeah I go to Alum Rock Auto Care and the Vietnamese guys there do my oil changes for $20. Something wrong with that? I thought filter lasts longer than the oil?

Wow. For that price im going to assume you have a fram or some other paper filter. The mileage and quality of oil and filter determines the amount of time between changes. You get what you pay for and I would be using synthetic in any car that is worth anything to you. I would recommend changing the filter with every oil change.

Btw I use a K&N gold filter on mine. Its usually about 15 for the filter and around 30-40 dollars for the oil.
