I've done what KAHBOOM says and even though it won't let me upshift it still jerks somewhat, granted it's less than if I forced the downshift from 4th or 3rd and then coasted to a stop.
I do notice that if I'm in 5th and I downshift to 3rd, the car jerks back because the RPMs rev, etc. Which I understand is normal for all cars. I would assume that if I did downshift from 3rd to 2nd (and was hitting the gas) then I probably wouldn't notice the jerk.
I'm not too worried about it. Just thought I'd ask while we were sort of on the subject. Thanks guys!
