Currently thinking about getting the stock spoiler ;| it does have a nice look to it but I think at the same time it takes the slick look. Any thoughts? And it rained here, 1st time driving the G in the rain.. VDC was on and I was turning just a little bit and my tail whipped.. scary!

Eventually, you'll know exactly when the rear will kick out and get used to the feeling of the car. Your not going to learn it in a few days.

 

Just another chime in on VDC in the rain. Definitely KEEP IT ON IN THE RAIN. There are dozens of threads where people crashed in the rain without it. It's really hard to feel the traction on the G35. I suggest trying some local autoX's to get used to your new car.

 

Don't try this is on the street. Unsafe for you, peds, and other drivers. This is an Infiniti, not a honda. Also, if you slide into a curb it will cost you $4000-6000, not $2000 like on a Honda. You also should do some reading on performance driving. I suggest "Secrets of Solo Racing" by Henry Watts. He addresses what causes the back and forth movement. Basically you are trying to defy physics. If you play around with your car like it's a toy, it'll break like a toy.

I'm sorry for your loss and all, but this was entirely preventable. There are driving courses, or track days, but the street is not a place to test the limits of your car.

Why don't you use this as an opportunity to learn how to properly drive in the proper environment instead of driving like an *** in a easier-to-control FWD. Did you not learn your lesson from this accident? The lesson wasn't don't drive RWD cars, but was learn how to handle cars properly and do it in a safe environment. Seriously, autoX's are way safer and forgiving than the streets.

You may think I'm being harsh, but I think I'm just being frank. Sometimes is take a large blunt force to break through denial. I know because I've been there.

But it seems from looking at your other posts that you are from San Jose.

Literally a couple days ago, I saw the ad for a 2006 G35 Coupe 6MT with 36,000 MILES with that EXACT SAME SUSPENSION. (TEIN COMFORT w/EDFC controller) in SAN JOSE, CA.

The asking price was $16,000. It was such a good deal, and I remembered my friend is looking for a G35 so I immediately emailed him. I emailed the seller and told him my friend had the cash to buy it for $16,000. He said he had other offers for $18,000. If this is the car, then how in the world did you pick it up for $10,000?

My friend is still looking for a car right now. Good job wrecking that G35. That car was IMMACULATE. If you couldn't handle it, should have let someone else buy it. What a waste.

Please don't tell him to get an STi or Evo. I don't want to see these cars wrecked.

Please stay away from any car that delivers ANY power to the rear wheels. Which includes awd.

Learn to be more responsible. This accident could have been easily avoided. I know my G35 didn't slip'n'slide around turns unless I intentionally pushed it.
