can the dealership raise my idle with a tool?

My car idles very low and sputters like it wants to die sometimes...

Ive tried to relearn the idle myself but have been unsuccessful.
Is it true that the dealer can raise my idle with a machine/tool???

Anyone ever gotten this done at the dealership before?

Yes, the consult tool is what they use for all Nissan/Infiniti ecu related adjustments

Yes they can. I don't know where it is on our cars but on a honda/acura all you need is a flat tip.

i dont think they would charge anything. i think that this would fall under warrenty, unless you have done some sort of intake modification…. other than a cai, z-tube, different filter, or pop charger (those dont count as invasive modifications in my opinion, and if there were to refuse me warrenty service because of that, i would not be happy)

you try cleaning your maf? sometimes a dirty maf can cause erratic idle.

SEARCH for the DIY Idle Reset, only take a minute and you don't need a tool just your key....

Then maybe it's a good idea to drop by the Nissan dealership not Infiniti to have them reset your idle for you. My opinion Nissan mechanics are better trained and their dealerships charge 30% less than Infiniti.

Why not just call the dealership and ask? I'd be more concerned as to why it's so low. What have you done to it lately?

i bought the car that way.. I thought it was the plugs...
SO i changed them.. reset the ecu, cleaned TB, cleaned MAF, Seafoamed, ETC

And the idle is still rough....
the engine pulls very strong even for 114k The motor feels very tight, and accelerating is still as crisp as lower mileaged G's.

So I cant imagine why it would idle this way..

You can always talk to the mechanic and (make up a store saying that your car shuts off when the RPM drop below 500 and you need to drive the car) ask where it is on the car.
