i know this might sound lame but i would check out a new 2011 mustang v6, more hp and tq, plus 31mpg with regular gas. not bad for a ford. of course the G is a head turner, its also a wallet turner!

Could you give me some reasons why its a pain in the ***? MY parents agreed to pay for insurance. I will not be driving 700 miles a week. maybe 80 a week? school is 2 minutes away. Also, its not like i am moving out on my own and have no money. I am living with my parents for another 2 years till i go to college. I have a job that will go towards gas and a savings for when something does happen to the car. also, what are these costs that you are saying are so expensive? oil change every 3k miles, gas, small misc. stuff. What else?

Since your parents are paying, then go for it, just don't wrap it around a tree.

big deal, you worked for a year and think you know the value of a $? you didn't pay for food, rent, insurance, clothes, education, anything..and now you want a fast car.

you need to learn that just because you worked hard for a year, dreams don't come true overnight.

a lot of people work 40 years and still drive old beat up cars..that's the reality of life. it sounds like your view is skewed, trust me, i was the same way at 16. "i worked so hard for this money i should get whatever i want"..

Just mature a bit, show your dad you have been more mature, and in time, you will get the things you deserve. until then, be grateful for what you do have already.

yah dude if ur parents pay to maintain it go ahead. but those TSB's, Sensors, Oil changes, Staggered Tires, Gas, all start to add up. plus spending like $100 in cleaning supplies and mods arent cheap either

Everyone here is giving good advice and trust us all that these things are expensive to maintain but with that 8 grand you saved up and your dad hopefully matching that 8, 16 grand can buy you a pretty reliable and solid running g35 in Arizona. I'm from here as well and have been checking out craigslist and there have been many good 16k cars out on the market with lower miles. Then when the mileage starts adding up you'll hopefully have enough saved to cover any issues. I was in a similar situation as you 2 years ago, and take it from me as long as you can find a reliable and well maintained car you won't regret your decision.

IMO first of all don't buy a G with over 50k miles!!!! and then second dont buy from a owner that claims over 25 mpg lol.

trying to stay in the 40k range. the cheapest i have found for an 04+ with 40k miles is 17k

A G35 with over 50k miles is fine. It's a Nissan, not a Ferrari.

It also depends a lot on how much you drive. If I know I won't be driving much, I won't mind getting a car with more miles.

how long are these things good till? what mileage do they start falling apart at?
