Well I'm new to this forum i have a 2007 g35 coupe AT 20K miles !! I didint really want a 6MT because the traffic in Houston is pretty bad but anyway here is what bothers me...

Every morning when i turn my car on there is a Pop noise on cold starts seems like its coming from underneath the driver side. The car only makes that noise on cold starts. that is the only thing wrong with it.I took it to West Infiniti in Houston and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it. I checked online everywhere and there is only one person that had the same problem but nobody really said anything so hopefully you guys know what it is.

I'm not too surprised the Infiniti dealership didn't mention this....maybe not! In the morning your VDC makes a noise when you start your G35. When I first heard this racket my thoughts were, "Oh Crap what was that?" Nothing to be concerned about, just part of what we drive.

yah, alot cars make noises in cold weathers, and early mornings lol

 

Do a search on "abs self test"

see if that explains the noise. Freaked me out at first too.

I took my car in and dealer said "oh, the abs self test" yeah that noise.
It is also mentioned in the 2006 manual on page 5-27.(5-25 in the 2007)

 

Trust me my car makes all sorts of odd noises in the cold weather upon startup.

 

Knock on wood.
Turns out my odd noises was my belts glazing over.
had to replace my belts yesterday.
oh well, noise all gone!

 

Is it a loud "POP!" noise like something is hitting your hood on the driver side? If so, I get the same noise. Searched and didn't really find much information on it, everyone said "its fine."

Its not as loud. Its just a pop on cold starts that it. I took the car back to infiniti and i think they fixed it..Well hope so hhaha

 

Let us know what was the issue if the stealership actually found it and fixed it.

 

Well just started the car today and it made the noise again so im guessing ill have to deal with it
